ALWAZL8 has volunteered to take charge of the awards. THANK YOU !!!
Five trophies were given out at OKC: Sexy New Rotary, Most Distant Traveler, Most Streetable Horsepower, Vintage Rotary and Best in Show.
We need suggestions for what awards our BBQ will offer. We can use ideas from OKC if we want to, but I'd also like some additional input.

If you do the drive like we did, either keep it way out of town, or on an interstate where everyone can haul ***. Our cruise was a little hectic for those of us trying to keep everyone together.
As far as hotels, I just found the nicest and closest to our park and talked to the guy in charge. Most places will give some sort of discount depending on how many people you expect to stay there. They did however want my credit card to book the rooms for X amount of people, but luckily they did it on a whoever showed up basis.
Food: Go to sams and get the big daddy carts. Don't forget they only take discover card (DAVID) lol For our estimated 100 people we bought 35lbs of beef, 120 hotdogs, all the junk to go with that, and I ended up throwing another BBQ at my house that Sunday night and still had way too much food left over I had to throw away. I think our food tab was right at 300 bucks.
Sponsors: helped that David spent wads of money at Gotham. Pretty much have to call around and just talk to people.

And Tulsa to Houston - those guys have expressed interest in a meet in the DFW area.
I've asked David (Apneablue) and the other guys in OK to check out this post and give us their opinions. I don't know anyone in Arkansas....

I'll have to agree with DrKillJoy on the hauling *** on the freeway comment. Call me an old fart (34), but I tend to leave the OKC meetings before the cruises to avoid the possibility of nailing or getting nailed by another 8 as we weave in and out of traffic. Don't get me wrong, the guys in the OKC club are great and I like hanging around with them talking about mods and our love for our cars. It's just that I'm married with kids, 1 speeding ticket my entire life and enjoy having low insurance rates! :D
I enjoy a spirited drive through some twisties, but in a group of cars it tends to rattle my nerves.
BTW: If I know the date early enough, I should be able to tweak my work travel schedule to make it to Arlington for this meet. I missed the Tulsa meet because of conflict with the family vacation. I'm contributing some Oklahoma income to the Galveston economy! :p

Another place that would be great is Dutch Branch Park on Benbrook lake down 377 in south Fort Worth. There is parking everywhere, little pavillions, twisties, great photo ops, and it is not real busy and its beautiful. I think this might be a better spot.

Anyway, Tiffany, I feel like a complete fool for calling you Daizy all weekend..Sorry for that. If you need a webpage to get people registered we can convert my registration page to have your info...and everytime someone signs up you get an email with the info...Then you can have a good head count on how many people you need to take care of and how much parking..
Things to think about. Allow free food for each person who brings one rotary car and one guest...each additional guest pays $5...that's not a lot to ask. We fed right at 100 people at the BBQ saturday and although the t-shirt sales and donations were good. It set me and 94touring back about $300....total cost for all the prizes and everything to host our BBQ was right at 600....But we went all out. No need for this. Also, if you want, email me and I can get you the place I bought the trophies from. You can get 5 trophies for less than $65 already engraved.
Anyway, will be happy to help as much as I can.

The statements you have posted show that you appear to have the maturitly level far below the level of someone that deserves to be driving anything that doesn't require training wheels.
I am in many ways glad that your hundreds of miles away so my roadways are just a little bit safer.
Psst. If I'm there you can bet YOUR *** that any behaviour that puts others lives or property in danger will be reported to the authorities.
Thank you,
KWH

aside from that this forum does not condone, nor does it allow posts about, street racing. bragging about routinely going the speeds you mentioned apnea are the kind of posts not allowed. everyone stick to the topic at hand- having a nice bbq- and keep the rest of the talk off of this forum. i am editing or removing posts not on topic. no more will be tolerated by me in dazygirl's thread.

Anyway, did you get a chance to scope anything out Jenkins? Seems like it would be a good spot. I think we could have a pretty good turnout here. My uncle just opened a business selling stuff for parties. I'll see what he could possibly help us out with.

Humm, I must have missing something... I was reading along and the thread looks hijacked.
Anyways, Back to the subject at hand. I might be able to come, depending on date. But I would be interested in attending, if all works out...

Benbrook Lake is out, they only have single Pavillions, but man the roads afun, anyway.....
River Legacy in Arlington is very nice. There are three great spots there.
Racoo Run - 8 Grills / 8 Covered Tables / 60 Car Parking lot
Elm Grove - 8 Grills / 8 Covered Tables / 82 Car Parking lot
Legacy Pavillion - 1 huge grill / I think we have to request tables / 55 car Parking Lot.
This is a public park so who knows how many parking spots will be available, I think the Elm Grove would be safe and the restrooms are close by. There is also a huge field there where we could play some football, volleyball, or what ever. I will post some pics, let me know your feedback, if it sound like a good idea I will get info on reserving the spot.
First pic is the park map, second is what the parking is like.
