Yeah, I second the idea of making this an annual event. It was nice to see all the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gens out as well. We really need to thank the sponsors as well as all the chicks that pulled together for this one. Great job ladies. Who knows, maybe next year we could even have a wet t-shirt contest.

When pics get posted we should say were we are located in what pict number. This way we can put names to screen names, and maybe even cars.

Well, I had a very great time. I enjoyed seeing so many nice Rotaries.

A special thanks to Dazy and her crew of help. I can't imagine myself putting together everything she did. Dazy, excellent job and we all thank you.

Another thanks to the sponsors for this event. Awards, raffle and give aways were very nice and the food was great.

I'm glad the weather worked out well and we had such a good turnout. Unfortunately I came directly from my cousin's house, so the girlfriend was in heels (we were unprepared), so that made her experience a little uncomfortable.

Anyway, thanks again. I look forward to the pictures and hope to see everyone again next year.

That was a blast!!! Thanks Tiff and everybody that pulled this together. I pulled up the history of Sevenstock to give those who may not know an idea of just how successful this event really was.
From their site:
"SevenStock started 8 years ago in Southern California,
it was the largest gathering of RX-7's in the southern
California area then. The first year, something like
15 cars attended. The second year, 30 or so. SevenStock 3
saw about 80 cars, and SevenStock 4 exploded with 200+ cars,
and 2000+ people. A history and pictures can be found on the
sevenstock.org website.

I think it is safe to say that the picture of all of us under the pavillion gets posted that Tiffany and everybody will be even more proud of this accomplishment.
Time will tell but Texas is central in the U.S. so logistically we are in better shape.
This should have the attention of the sponsors and give them a lot of incentive to want to help with this again as well as draw in a whole lot more sponsors.

These are from the first Sevenstock:

I was thinking... I know everyone that attended did a great job, but i don't want it to seem like were trying to challenge 7-stock.
I had a suggestion: Next year we might want to do it in late spring. This is right when the good weather begins, and statistcally for some reason this when most people are buying parts and modding their cars. It will also be 6 months before 7 stock. Just a thought...

Oh and also, I agree with 8 is enough about labeling some of the pics.

I hope no one took it that way. But it is a rotary get-together and compared to the grandaddy of all there is a lot to be proud of on this innaugral event. In light of it being such a great success I agree that moving it to Spring is a great idea.
So many of us never get to go to Sevenstock. But for those that can it would be nicer to have our close to 6 months out of phase to Sevenstock.
Plus that would help sponsors not feel like it generates any conflicts.

I want to see the group pic

we'll have pictures posted soon.
we took 404 between RX8-TX and myself.

I've got them all resized but not posted yet as it's a huge undertaking to post them. I'm also in the process of sending them to Miguel in their original grandeur.
What you may not have realized is I actually took 10 group shots
I love those cameras, they're so fast.

Tiff totally ROCKS as an event organizer!!! For a first year event, I think we can say that the turn out was truly GREAT. We had good representation from all of the 7 groups, in addition to the 8's. :D

I would like to say thank you to EVERYONE that made it out, as well as to all of our sponsors. We couldn't have done it without you!

It was great to finally be able to put some names with new faces. It was also great to see all of you that I've met previously again - you know who you are!

We had such a good time at the BBQ in Tulsa this past May that we decided to put one together, too. Ours was done in conjunction with the Tulsa BBQ that is held in the spring (Memorial Day weekend). The idea was for us to be able to attend one in the spring and another in the fall.

I can't wait for next years events and to see everyone again!

Webalbum Gen solves most of my problems. But, trust me, the high-res photos will find a worthy home sometime soon.

The second set is showing up....56Mb so far. And I was wondering whose car that was. I love it!

Wonder if anyone would be offended if I posted their cars on TuningFever.com? Not too many Rx-8's on there at all.

I'm a newbie with an 8 :D and I really needed some help deciding where to start and draw the line on mods. What a great place to see every one's labor of love! The Pics are outstanding too! Thanks to all involved, can't wait until next year.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of our sponsors as it would not have been possible without them.

A BIG PERSONAL THANK YOU to Sam, Jackie, Jon, Chad, Amber, Chris, Richard, Tre, Brian and Scott for stepping up and stepping in to help me out - without me asking you to. Without you all, the BBQ could not have been such a success.

A REALLY REALLY BIG PERSONAL THANK YOU to Shari and Miguel. Where do I begin? For months I have been bouncing ideas off of you two and making sure that nothing was forgotten. You guys made sure that everything was covered and that every attendee would leave with a big smile on their face. This thing would not have gotten off the ground if it weren't for you two. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

I'm very happy to hear that everyone had a good time and I look forward to seeing how the pics turned out. Amber is doing an online photo album of the local RX8ers so please email her the link to the sites or the pics themselves: Amber@jenkins-crew.com

For the first BBQ that we've hosted, I think it was a huge success. I've already begun a list of "lessons learned" so next year's, yes - I said next year's, BBQ will be that much bigger and better.

I don't know how may know this, but Brian Wann from Mazda was one of our attendees earlier in the day. Our group is officially registered as a "Mazda Enthusiast" which entitles us to future sponsorship by Mazda. Brain wants to submit an article about the group and the BBQ to MazdaSport Magazine, along with some good pics, so......

I NEED TESTIMONIALS!!!! Please send me a little write-up, no specific length required, of the BBQ. I want to know what you liked, how you felt, what you took away from the BBQ, what you learned, etc. (I also want to know what you thought could be done better and I'll add that to the lessons learned.) I'll compile these write-ups, giving credit to your own words if they're chosen, and submit it to Brian. I will also submit this to RXTuner so they can publish our success as well.

For those who are wondering about t-shirts... I will call the t-shirt making place and see how much the shirts are. Those provided at the BBQ were ENTIRELY sponsored by Rotary Performance and the $10 you paid directly benefited the BBQ. I would assume that they are more than $10, but I'll post a price as soon as I know.

I also plan on going through the left over t-shirts this week and mailing them out to those who weren't able to attend and our sponsors. I really don't think there are any extras, but I'll post if there are.

Side note: there has been mention of a Spring BBQ so we're not "competing" with Sevenstock. Are you guys trying to kill me? :p The idea for a fall BBQ was spawned by Tulsa's OK BBQ, held this past May. The plan is for them to host a Spring BBQ in OK and we host a Fall BBQ in DFW. Although DFW will have more members from the south (due to the closer location), we're hoping to draw more owners from other neighboring OK states, not just TX and AR. I don't think that our BBQ is "competing" with Sevenstock and that was never the plan. I chose this weekend out of sheer convienence and it's worked. I only hope that our event grows like Sevenstock did and that one day our event will have over 200+ cars and 2000+ people. Brian Wann did mention possibly hosting it at Texas Motor Speedway...... :D

Wow, that is pretty neat that we had the Mazda rep out there. I would have liked to have known that. Maybe if we use name tags next time we have forum name and actual name and for any of the sponsors to have who it is that they represent?
Most of the people I doubt knew Chris Ott of Rotary Performance, Steve Kan and Alex from Gotham Racing were there unless they already knew them or were introduced from someone that did. But then again there were probably some pretty funny moments for them because of people that did not know who they were. Imagine somebody asking one of them if they ever heard of "porting" or something like that? hehe!!!

Texas Motor Speedway? WOW, now that would be really nice. I am so proud of Tiff and the gang that pulled this off.
I plan on showing my appreciation to the sponsors with my wallet.
