I learned yesterday that a co-worker sold his 90 mustang lx convertible with the 5.0 motor to another co-worker for $2500. I was like...dude! I've been telling you that I'm looking for a daily driver.

Tires Question

I was wondering how long did your first set up tires last? I am trying to get some custom tires made for my rx-8, but it may be a few months.

I think my first set lasted me for 40K miles. Who is making custom tires?

Custom Tires for RX-8

yup, I have a friend who owns a tire shop and does high volume business. What I wanted was to get some custom tires with white raised lettering (like racing tires) that said something like "Goodyear" one side and "RENESIS-EXILE" on the other. Something like that. Haven't worked out all the details. Do you think anyone else would be interested? I used to have a Matrix XR and put Goodyear Eagle NASCAR racing tires on it...very sweet!

What did you have done on the Matrix that needed those tires?

The pilots up here just gave me a callsign: Trixie. Does it suit?

I didn't have anything done to it...it just looked rather boring with the original tires, so I thought it would like much better. moding cars is a relatively new experience for me, as i had been quite the poor student for many years until rather recently :o

i'm looking forward to learning quite a bit from the rest of you. Did I mention that I was in love with my RX-8? :p I got busted today checking out my own ride!

Flying with some Air Force pilots during the day, but I have my very own cockpit on the road. She's under renovation right now. :D Maybe I should get a sticker with "Trixie" and put it on my B-pillar like the jets.

In the F-35 JSF simulators. We haven't built it yet, still working on the design.

Trixie is a code word for "call girl" with fly boys so I don't think you want that

Alright, he says he didn't mean it that way, that it just popped in his head and it's more of a nickname type callsign. I like it.

dazy, i guess you work at Lockheed-Martin? I met someone the other day who works there as a engineer mechanic type, told me that he had been working on the JSF and others before that. He told me that some F-111 had just been scrapped, and that he had worked on the F-15 Eagle too. The rx-8 is the closest I'll ever come to flying...probably the reason i fell in love with the rx-7 12 years ago.

Yes, I do. I could never be a REAL pilot, but the sims and the 8 are just as good. Probably a good thing since flying makes me sleepy.

I've never been in a fighter jet, just commercial and I always fall asleep on flights. A Vanity plate is a thought... we'll see.
