Renovated $4 Carwash on Kirby (Hou, TX) is Great.
It has been open for about a week now. I went on Saturday and for $4 it is the best automated carwash I have ever had. It is accross the street from Bubbles where O'banons (spelling) used to be before Bissonet.
It got the car very clean with the windows being spot-free and the car was 90% dry.
They also let you vacuum and fragrance your car for free. So before I vacuumed, I got out a cotton towel and quickly wiped up the few wet spots the carwash didn't dry, then vacuumed and then sprayed on my Rain-X brake dust preventer and that was it.
I plan to do it every Saturday morning. Can't beat the price. With a little bit of elbow work of my own it was as good as a handwash but 1/3 the price.

Not exactly in my area, but I tend to go there often enough that I might try it. Is it a "no-touch"?
Genius! I wish I had known about this sooner. *Jumps in 8 and heads to nearest Auto Zone*

It is not no-touch, but the strips of cloth are very light and drag pretty slowly accross the the car as my recollection serves. The Wash uses a lot of water and keeps the car really soapy until the end.
It is a far cry from olde tyme carwashs that beat the **** out of the car. Personally I don't know any completely no-touch carwashes that remove all of the dirt. Brake dust in particular has alway required either harsh chemicals (not good) or some sort of touching to remove for me.
I seriously doubt the wash will scratch the paint. It didn't on mine.

I know this thread is over a year old--but I want yall to be aware when you go here...I usually go there when I want to get a good wash and detail my self when time is short--make sure you allow for plenty of space between you and the car in front and behind--even if the guys motion you in. One of the guys put a damn Town Car for hire in too close to me--the car ended up hitting me in the back while we were in the carwash--I drove on out over the tracks and all to avoid getting slammed into again. Luckily there was no damage--but you guys don't want this happening.
