Kevo - I was expecting you come up and challenge for the lead when we got back on 16, esp with that idiot truck thinking he could run with us.

Next on the agenda will be a BBQ @ Raymond Russell park, pot luck kinda deal. I will post a thread with the details soon. Will need feed back on what days are good for what people, would like to have the maximum amount of people come out.

No way man! I was way too comfortable and happy to just be cruising back there! Plus that truck was a huge chunk of radar reflecting material...nice.

Sounds like a great idea for a get together...I will keep an eye out for the thread.

But don't feel bad either, the turns on these particular roads can make reading a turn pretty darn difficult, since a good portion of them are blind. You size up the curve ahead based on what you can see and you think you have it nailed only to have it turn into a frickin hairpin that only gets tighter...and steeper...plus you have a cliff on each side...one as a wall with falling rocks and one as a 150' drop off! Oh yeah, and don't forget the oncoming traffic either. That's not a comfortable situation to be in for anybody...plain and simple.

The more you drive these roads the better you will know what's coming up ahead and the more fun you can have with them.
yeah, those blind corners are scary and the tight road as well. im worried bout understeering and going to the other lane and hit oncoming traffic or go straight off the cliff. my car is so underpowered that i was thinking that it might not be able to pull me out of those corners and hit somebody. lol but yeah, i had a really great time... need to modify the driver more

Oh yeah...sounds like a good time!

I hadn't seen any of you guys since the Academy meet and what are the odds we would run into each other at of all places...Stonehenge...small world! Sorry you had to see my ride without the nice wheels on it...I am always bummed when I have to put those nasty stocks back on.

Grungepup - Great job leading the pack brother! It was a great drive...very well organized. Unless I have something SO important that I simply can't break away count me in on ANY drive you guys do in the future.

MaddHatter00 - You drove a really good run man. Very smooth...predictable enough that I wasn't worried when I got a little close. If anything, I did a **** poor job of giving you more leash before the long tight sections so I wouldn't reel you in too fast. I was impressed! On the way back to SA I laid WAY back to give your tailpipes some breathing room for a change ...and since that particular stretch is patrolled quite heavily (ie. the fat a$$ constable in the truck we passed who had already pulled someone over) and since I was the last in line I thought I would trail back so I would not be easy to pick off the end! But when I did move up later (sorry, couldn't resist...besides there wasn't any gravel thrown up, right?) and you got back in behind me I figured it was your turn to ride up my a$$ for a while! Sweet justice.

RX8Bumblebee - Great to finally meet you man. The wife said your lady was nice to chat with...it's good to not be the lonely odd-girl out! I am glad you guys had enough time before this run to make room in your schedules. I know how difficult joining the short notice drives can be. Look forward to the next one with you!

9K - Too bad you couldn't hang around for 335 and the encore presentation of 336...with only 5 cars we had a much tighter pack. You would have loved it! Next time...

Cornholio - Good seeing you again man! Nice meeting your wife and bro...I am glad he could make it out.

Non-8 Mazda Guys - I was really impressed with how you gys did! You really hung in there well...hats off to you!

Schedule willing I hope to attend the Texas8...if I do you may not see me though...as I will be in the group pulling up the rear!

I have some videos (starring MaddHatter00) I may try to post at some point soon...
Thanks for the nice words. I havent done a run like that and I was hoping that I did make a complete fool out of myself. Sorry if I did throw some rocks. I tried to avoid it as much as possible. But yeah the following you on the way back to SA was some sweet revenge.

Hopefully I can get into more of these runs and get better so I can keep up with you guys better

Oh I though you were in the three behind me. The Plast-X work great, just use a microfiber pad to put it on and take it off, do a little areea at a time because it dries quicks. No need for a buffer.

No worries...it happens! Out there on those roads you can't help but to throw a few paint chippers.

You were second in line for the encore run so I would say you kept up pretty good!

You were moving along pretty good. It took us roughly 24min45sec (for the encore) to traverse 336 which is a 27 mile run from 41 to the Leakey sign...That's 65.5 mph...pretty quick!

I have done that same run in 21min30sec, but I topped out at 90mph on the straights where I could. We didn't go that fast on the straights...so we ran the twisties VERY fast.

Dude...You're an animal! Lol

Great pace!

No I didnt think you were going that fast. I thought it was a good pace. Maybe after I get used to the roads we can try faster but I was comfortable with the speed that you set

Editing down a "Best of" right now...trying to get it as compact as I can. Do you have the Riva FLV player to play back Flash Video files? If not, go ahead and download it...this is most likely the format I will be using.

Hey Cornholio, did someone leave a business card on your car today? Haha, I was visiting my bosses sister and saw your car there. The business card is for my side business.
