Okay guys here is a thought. The quickest route to Austin is I35 but it sure as hell is not the coolest way to get there. If we go the "back way" we can get into some really nice roads on the way. Or we could save that for the daytime ride back.
Heading out 377S and taking any number of routes is much more scenic than I35 though. You get into the Hill Country that way.

Agree w/Jenkins. If I'm driving a road trip where we don't leave until after dinner, I'm not going to want to spend all night getting there. Let's do it on the way back where we'll have more time!

Well I figure if some people are running a little late, while were eating they will have time to meet us, but they better grab something for the road.
Maybe we can fill up at a gas station all at the same time so that we all stop at the same time later.

There is the Rig steakhouse on 35S just past south loop 820. They have big tables and even group rooms. Good food and a comfortable place when you have to wait while everybody piles in. They also have a huge parking lot area so finding a spot to designate to group the cars would be easy.
Since it is the southern edge of Ft. Worth and right where 20/820/I35 all intersect it seems like a good candidate. Unless we have people in Burleson/Crowley, etc. no one should have to backtrack to get there.

I have a couple of the Motorola Talk-abouts (or something like that) I have to dig them up and see if the batteries will still hold a charge. We use them at the race track.
I am not sure where the nearest big gas station is nearby but I will check with some of my friends that live around there.

I have a co-worker who is willing to let me borrow his. He has three sets and these all work together. We can test them out w/Jenkins set before the trip and make sure they all work together.
