Possibly another stupid question: Do we have a good guess as to how many people are wanting to stay in the hotel?

From DFW we have:
Dazy
Mr. Ed
Nyt-Owl
Jenkins plus 1 1/2

I'm not sure about Slim or Scalliwag and if I forgot you, I apologize.
Weininaustin--you would stay at the Omni, but not the other, right?

I am definately a poor man, I was looking to more like $50 a night, just a place to crash for a couple hours while we're down there, I don't want to pay rent :D

Ok. I think that's do-able with AAA and the room at $143 with 2 doubles. That's four people in one room, about $36/person. Is two people on a double too cramped? I have no problem, but ya'll are bigger than me...

That's a good idea too Jenkins. Does the suite have a fold out sofa? It mentioned 2 rooms so I wonder what's joining them together.

well originally it was weininaustin's idea, 2 bedrooms with 2 beds. Seems like we might want a few more beds though.

You could also add a couple more people to this room if we use one of Chris' air beds so that's even less than $36/person.....

I, personally, would chose the closer hotel, but it doesn't really matter to me AS LONG AS MY CAR IS SAFE.......

Agree, need a safe place to hide my baby, especially since she'll be wearing new duds. I also would prefer within walking distance of the bars, but that's preference.

At the OMNI Hotel Austin

Valet and self-parking in secured, underground garage (fee)

http://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/default.asp?h_id=32

It's also next to the Austin Police Department HQ

Mine too...I will pitch in the money and share a double with someone. Although I like to cuddle (tends to become more prominent after a night of drinking) so whoever I sleep with better be VERY comfortable with me. You guys really think we will be getting much sleep?

This place is VERY nice. I attended a conference here.

We need to keep in mind that if someone cannot make it through the whole night on 6th that they have a close and SAFE place to crash where we won't be worried about them. On the east side of I35 is where all the drug dealers hang out, so what better place to crash than 1 block from 6th and next to the APD in a very luxurious hotel where we can split the bill.

Something I've learned while traveling the road of life.......

Cheaper is NOT always BETTER.

Sometimes we need to spend a few extra bucks to enjoy the life we deserve.

I believe in safety and comfort.

And to set everyone at ease. Regardless if I stay at the Omni with you guys, please count me in and I will pay for my share even if I decided to head back to my house. I would rather see everyone safe then in harms way because it was $5 more than you wanted to spend.

She has a point and I forgot about the area. The Omni is a much better place to stay.

I'm a cuddler too, whether or not I've been drinking. :D I'm voting for Omni as well.

Most chicks ARE cuddlers..... aren't they?! If not, then it's a little weird that all the females on this thread seem to be. :D
