apartment complex, and i question if my door are locking sometimes. like today when the police were fingerprinting the car i hit lock saw it flash came back and the door was unlocked ....

my white car has finger print dust all over it... the trunk is heavy printed, along with the driver side door and passenger

they apprently had time to play with my driver seat...wonder if they were hoping to find a key ...

That's why you always turn your music down when rolling home. Been there and done that man, I know your pain three times over. I used to go to my bosses house barely bumping since it was a very upscale neighborhood and the one time I left my car at his house over the weekend it was stripped and they tried top steal it but were unable. I lost about 250 cd's, radar detector, JL W7, AMP, headunit, etc, etc.

WELL to top off the day i get a letter from the apartment saying i owe money, then they tell me o yea our drop box for the checks got broken into, i dont even let mine hit hard so no one can tell it has one unless they saw it when i open and close the trunk which was possible.

Dude, sorry man. Hope they catch the *******. Its prolly the same people that are screwing up our apartment community also. They are breaking into cars and now they have started breaking into apartments. Guess even living in a luxury community doesnt make anything safer. Glad my cars in the garage. They'd have to put my car back together if they really wanted it !!lol!!

I was told when I had my "experience with jerk offs stealing my ****" that if the audio equipment is not in a factory location, insurance will not cover it. They didnt cover any of my $3k of crap in the car, so I went through home owners and said my drum set was in the car and it got stolen.

They'll cover it if you add a rider to your policy. Costs like $3 a month. I have one on all of my instruments because they're in the car a lot.

damn man, that sucks... time to start sitting up with a shotgun.

You know, you could always set up a sting. Make a big production of putting stuff back into your car and then nail the f'ers when they come to get it.

I'm not a lawyer, but it looks like the castle doctrine may cover you on this too...

Take a look at Section 2.1.C

Granted, you'd probably want to verify with the police before you do.

Time to move man. That **** gets old. Years ago I lived in an apartment where my car (Civic) was stolen once and broken into twice within a year. That poor Civic was broken into like six times total at different places.

A few of my friend's had their cars broken into recently.

My friend's next door neighbor had his house robbed on Saturday while he was out of town.

He came back Sunday and filed a police report. Sunday night they stole his brand new truck that still had dealer tags. Apparantly they stole the spare key when they robbed his house.

Two weeks later my friends 99 buick was broken into.

Maybe its the sign of the times.

The apartment complex I live in is upscale and a bunch of people had their cars broken into. Apartment complex sent out a notice warning everyone and that they might want to upgrade their coverage on renters insurance.
