Slowly, slowly making progress.

Alright, gulf users. I now have two items on order...

Aluminum fender strakes from Rotary13b (arriving any day now)
Clear Corners from K5com in Japan. (arriving next week)

I'm going to get some stealth bulbs later, but I'm curious, what would you all recommend for my next small, relatively cheap addition? Maybe a little change to the headlights? I'd like to keep it under a couple of hundred.

Suggestions welcome!

I'm currently leaning towards putting some nice dark tint on my windows, should be able to get out under $200 that way.

I was thinking of doing some interior footwell lights, but I want to keep everything on my new 8 either black, white, or chrome.

Do they make that LED kit in a bright white?

i got just installed those footwells in red.. i asked him for a bright white.. but unfortunately in order for him to make white.. he'd have to buy 100 white leds.. so im pretty sure he's not going to make any other color unless there is a big demand for them

you can get springs pretty cheap, might want to consider that as a near-future mod if cost is an issue

Ok, checking back in on the thread:

Clear corners are on their way, chrome fender strakes are installed.

Next up: Legal dark window tint, stealth front turn signals, and smoked tails. I'm going to try to get these done by my next paycheck.

After that, I'm going to get springs... maybe drop it a little....

And then I can work on short shifter and other suggestions.

I would suggest Mazdaspeed springs or Swift. The car already has a great transmission/shifter so I don't think it's necessary to get a SS. Other stuff sounds good though. I would also suggest an Ipod cable, the Audiolink one works pretty well and sound is cleaner than CD. Takes 15 mins to install and just plugs into the back of your head unit, a local vendor TheRPMstore sells them for 115ish.

15 minutes might be a bit of an exaggeration unless you've got someone there that knows exactly where that bolt behind the dash is. If so, 15 minutes could do it.

I can do it in under 10 now, but of course that's with the bolt out of the equation. We spent most of the time looking for the bolt on the install. Otherwise it's just unscrewing the ****, unclipping 1 panel, 4 screws and popping the h/u out to plug in the unit and reverse.

I'd have to get an iPod first. I'm not an apple fan, but it appears I'm going to have to get one to get a wide music variety in my car.

No more swapping out CDs for me.

hahaha! that's how my addiction began with strakes and clear corners... Looks mattered too me at the start but thanks too my friends who mostly own 2 seater sports cars I grew a quick jealousy too speed and didn't want too believe that an Rx-8 with everything that existed for it wouldn't be able too beat there cars.... I'm done with my NA 8...

But ya, I suggest changing all the bulbs on the exterior of your car too white LED's... I noticed that using single bulbs LED's aren't brighter, but they won't burn out and start blinking. Change the HID's too 8000K bulbs. After that it's what you think is more important too yourself... I just think that changing all the bulbs too LED's makes your RX-8 stand out more than the average stock one. I made my interior bulbs Red LED's pretty much too match the car's lighting...

Then went crazy with after market speed oriented things...

It had a 3.5mm stereo jack as well for other MP3 players etc but it won't charge it or let you change the playlist with the steering wheel/stereo buttons.

Ok, little update:

I just finished the clear corners install. I left the white bulb in the clear corners because I believe it's legal here in Texas, and I might as well keep the black/white/silver look together. (Plus, I'm lazy and didn't feel like buying and changing out new bulbs)

So, up next is tint. Does anyone have any favorite tint shop in the DFW area?

EDIT: Special thanks to the Japanese guy who ships out the clear corners, and whoever put up the DIY on the topic of installation. I got my corners in within a week, and installed in 10 minutes, was too easy.

It may be too far for you but try ProTint on Preston and Frankford basically. They did a good job and the water should dry out quick because its the summer. Huper Optik all the way!

I've heard very good things about ProTint as well.
