Southwestern Oklahoma Get-together
I'm going to plan a get-together for southwest Oklahoma. I'm tired of no one posting on the forums from this area. I know there is a Q in OKC in like...two months, but I'd like to meet some of the 8 owners in this area.
I'm thinking Lawton, maybe next weekend?

Sounds to me like you need to go more grassroots with getting some folks together, a LOT of owners don''t even know about this forum, I meet 8 owners here in Austin and they barely know anything about the car, much less where to get info. off the web. If I were you and I was struggling to get folks together or wanted to try and get something going, 2 things I'd do right off the bat:
1. hit up your area Mazda dealers, print up some flyers and/or business cards and see if they'll let you display them somewhere (like the parts counter) or if they'll hand them out to new owners etc. as they sell a car. As long as you're not infringing to much, more than likely they'll cooperate. (unless they're just ********, and you don't want that anyway)
2. Post up stuff around town/area, go to the local hang outs, give out flyers etc., Maybe hit up some local businesses, auto parts places or accessory/performance shops if they're any nearby.
3. don't forget rx7club.com and rx8web.com, you might find some other rotary folks there that just never bothered or never knew rx8club existed.
if you're already doing all that, and still cannot drudge up interest, either theer's just not enough folks in your area, or you just need to be consistent and give it time to build. Whatever the case, good luck, keep going at it, these things don't happen overnight
