I actually got the 10 lap drive/ 5 lap ride for Christmas so I will be there (with my wonderful wife) and another guy who's wife got him the same thing. I've never driven the vettes before, nor have I driven the course, any tips?
Also, we're going in the 9AM session on Sat, I'll be the guy with "Boring" written NASCAR-style on his tshirt.

sadly enough...I'll be wearing a shirt with 42 on it...cause I'll also be driving car 42A haa...
best you could probably do is download the clip for the track...watch repeatedly to remember the course...and pick some brains whilst there...

Make sure that you get the clip going clockwise as that is what we'll be running this weekend. It's alot faster going clockwise. I'm 88. Black RX8. I'll have a Mazdaspeed hat I'll be wearing most of the weekend.

Been an interesting weekend so far. A 3000GT caught on fire, a 1G DSM ripped off an oil cooler and siezed the motor, and a WRX flipped over. Admist other myrid of issues on almost every car. Mine ... brakes are toast, spongy peddle. Always fun trying to slow down from 130 with shitty brakes.

Hey Edgar, so how'd you end up liking it? I left after the 3rd session on Sunday. My brakes are completely gone. I'll post up some pics later today. I almost went straight off track into the tire wall when I could scrub enough speed in the braking zone. Shitty brakes. I'm calling racing brake to get their new pads.
I'm done for a while until August. I'll be running the TMS event at night. That should be a ton of fun.

haa...i had a blast...the video came out freaking great...very stable except on that long straight where the wind was creating hella turbulence in the back...but then again I came out of turn 1 at 90+ so it was kinda expected...
popping open those rear windows really helps to keep drag at bay and lowers the wind turbulence inside the car.
I cant even start to count how many cars I was passing...I am VERY impressed on how well the car behaved and how agile it really is. Once you told me to lower my tire pressure I was hitting turn 7 and redlining 3rd gear consistently when exiting the corner...that back straight turned into my catchup/pass zone...I was pWning the n00bs back there...
SS brakelines and superblue never let me down, and the brakes were fadefree even after repeated n00bish threshold braking...very consistent and predictable...
dude all your advice and tips rocked...I'll get video up soon of my chasing down the Z06 and Cobra that refused to let me pass even though I was inside his trunk thru most of the course with the exception of the long straight...

I really liked the HP+ I got on but think as soon as I wear them out I'll switch to the ceramic pads. Cheap and same performance as the HP+ without all the squealing and dusting. Buy at least a spare set so in the future you can swap em out on the track when you burn thru em. Oh and I'll be packin a caliper compressor the next time too...haa haa
Front Hawk Ceramic Part: HB470Z.643
Rear Hawk Ceramic Part: HB378Z.565

Nice. I learned about the whole tire pressure thing the hard way so I'm glad it helped out. Also, try shifting to 4th before turn 7. It'll take a while to get used to but if you can shift quick enough you won't lose any speed and be at full throttle going through 7 in 4th. You'll get in the realm of 120 before hitting the braking zone for 6th.
The night event is in August at Texas Motor Speedway. It's a solo only event though. I'm still undecided as to what pads to run. I've decided on having a street set and track set (front) though. I'm chewing through the street performance pads too quick, and they just don't have enough bite. I'm trying to stay away from any brake upgrades other than pads as long as possible. But for not I got some cheapy pads since I don't have pads in the rear.

Since the night event is solo only...if I wanted to go and hang out for a little bit you know how that would work?

Guests are always welcome. Just got to sign that waiver. There are instructors in yellow too but they only hang around for a session. They aren't too concerned about it though. In blue though most people will have instructors. The more seat time you get the better it becomes. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I still botch corners all the time ... turn 3 is my nemesis for whatever reason. In either direction I never get that corner the way I want it.
Make sure you sign up for the September event at MSR Cressen. It's a nice track with really nice elevation changes. We are going to try to rent a track side house for the weekend so the more the merrier (and splitting the cost). They'll open up Eagles Canyon in the last 1/4 of this year. Also a really nice track but it's going to be rough on the momentum cars like ours. Lots of straights for the high HP cars to walk away from us. That is the nice thing about MSR in Cressen. Very technical course and much slower than TWS. It's a great learning course. Excellent place to practice and learn new techniques.
