Texas auto insurance
Been shopping around and wanted y'alls opinions if possible. I have 3 cars... 04 Altima, 88 F150, and 05 RX-8... liability on the Altima and F150, full coverage on the 8.
Currently with Progressive and have been very happy with them but the premium for 6 months is pushing 1250.
21st century has given me the best quote at 822 for 6 months, but the reviews are horrible. I do know that every insurance company gets bad reviews, but at 400 less than my other quotes its still tempting.
esurance gave me the next best at around 1000.
What are you guys using and happy with?

I know with Statefarm and Allstate you can get mulit-policy discounts. I have Statefarm and I receive discounts for multi-vehicle and multi-policy (homeowners). I want to say full coverage on two cars and liability on a third runs me less than what you're paying with Progressive.

How is insurance in TX? I know here in Oklahoma I have Farmers and I think I am getting raped...but they are the cheapest I have found I pay 180 a month on my car alone (2004 RX-8 GT) and I am 30 years old, never had a wreck or ticket in my life...ever. Seems I shouldnt be paying that much with my age, no wrecks or tickets ever.

Janky older website, but I've been happy with these guys:
http://www.789auto.com/
They don't actually do the insurance part, but they automatically re-shop rates for me with all of their providers every 6mo and let me know if there are any that offer less expensive rates for the same coverage. About every 12-18mo there will be one of the major or semi-major companies that's offering a special (usually an unpublished special, or a special only to brokers) and I'll switch and save. Wash-rinse-repeat.
Last time the rate I shopped myself for Progressive was about ~$30/mo higher than the broker was able to get me - same coverage, same company. And it beat the other couple that I shopped myself by a considerable amount.
I would defintely get with a broker, either those guys or a similar other one. Let them do all the shopping and THEN see if you can beat it or not. But I haven't been able to yet, and it's just one call to the broker and it's all handled. Very easy, and saves me money. Can't go wrong.

OP, you are getting raped. Although Asking other people what they pay is kind of pointless. Also the term "full coverage" is often misused and people then think they are fully covered. There are many factors that go into insurance rates like accidents, age, credit, where you live, who lives with you, whether you own a home, what coverages you select, your deductible, etc. I just moved across town three years ago and got like $15.00 a month discount. My GF's sister (26 years old) moved to Eagle Pass from San Antonio, and her insurance went down almost $50.00 a month and she is high risk due to a few accidents that were her fault.
So don't go based on what others pay because sometimes it just doesn't make sense at all. hell you can just call five companies for quotes and you will see how prices vary. But for me, I know USAA will always handles my claims without a hassle so even if I have to pay more it's worth it. I did have nationwide for 15 years but for them prices just steadily increased for no apparent reason and even when I told them I was switching to USAA they offered no discounts even though at the time I was married so I had auto, home owners, life insurance, and disability insurance.
I have extended coverages to 50k/100k, medical payments coverage, rental coverage, Uninsured, underinsured, and a 250.00 deductible and I only pay $140.00 a month with renters insurance and 250k of life insurance. Plus I have had one accident that was my fault and a few tickets over the past few years.

OP, I think that sounds a bit high. I was paying through Geico 151 for full coverage on a 02 trailblazer and my 06 RX8, No Accidents on the 8 and one on the Trailblazer. This included Extended Coverages to 50/100, Med Payments, uninsured/Underinsured, rental reimbursement and a 250 Ded on Collision and 0 on Comp. I recently dumped the trailblazer off the policy so I lost the multicar discount- geico was not too fond of that and tried to put the rate up, So I moved to Farmers, with the same coverages they took me down to 582 for a6 month policy. I would shop around IMO

I currently use a broker, Mclean Insurance Agency. Been with them for about three years now. every year they look into seeing if they can get me a better rate. They are located in Dallas so if you want just give them a quick call and see what they can do. (214)599-0975 and ask for Joe.

I pay about $175 every 6 months for liability only for two cars. 06 RX8 Shinka and a 95 MX3-RS.
The trick is....drive less than 25 miles PER WEEK. No real job so no daily driver. Also have a bike but that's another story. Have had my share of tickets.
Speeding, 89 in a 65 (at the dragon)*, not stopping*, no insurance*, no valid drivers license*, defective stop light*, running a red light, speeding, 45 in a 30*, failing to yield to a stopped police vehicle*, speeding 38 in a school zone,
Last time I was stopped (3 weeks ago), it was for license plate not on the bumper (sitting on the windshield) and expired insurance by one week. At the end, cop just threw my license into my wallet and told me "I am giving you an oral warning, get your insurance card and license on you bumper" ( just have to know what to say to them and how to act)
ALL in the last 3 years. Yet did not pay a penny in citations and all if not most do not show in my driving record. * = dismissed, Most got dismissed other 2 did CS. community service.
Did you read and understand what I said?
The trick to to tell you insurance company that the 8 is not a daily driver. That you drive 25 miles on less per week on that car. That it is not a work car but a pleasure car. (something like the GF)
