I am going to take Friday off and leave about 0930 or so. I plan to get over to Hey 16 ASAP and take it all the way to Kerrville. Keeps you away from 35 and 281. If y'all are not leaving until 3P you won't be there till 9P or so.

Anyone else wanting to do the day drive for DFW or we can hook up along the way.

Anyone want to meet for dinner about 6ish in Kerrville?

Can whoever is going on the Kerrville trip make it to next Tuesday meet at Flips in grapvine?? We really should all get together and talk about the trip and figure out what time we want to meet on that friday and what not. What do you guys think? If tuesday will not work what day would be best for everyone to meet up?

Taking Friday off would be ideal... but leaving at or before 3 should also be fine.

How about Saturday before the TMS run? We could meet somewhere over that direction, possibly even do a little road run before the track.

Count me in. It sounds like we'll have 2 different groups going down. I'll more than likely take Friday off as well.

As it looks right now, I'll probably take Friday off too.

As for availability next week, Wednesday or Thursday eve works for me.

Steve, you might as well. We can take all the back roads. Hwy 16 is pretty fun and there are some other roads. One thing about it, if we leave in the morning, no side road excursion is going to make a difference. We will still arrive mid to late afternoon have a chance to rest up a bit before dinner.

Is it your plan to have something for dinner Friday together or have you not gotten that far. These things are tough to plan with such short notice, good thing we stole someone else's plans :-)

That is definitely an added benefit. There are a couple of roads that go a little out of the way off of 16 to Fredericksburg that offer a nice bit of a ride that I wouldn't bother with late at night.

I'm game for whatever, (i.e. having the biweekly meet for DFW on another day) and also taking friday off.

Though note, My wife will be unlikely to take that day off, so she would have to ride with yours seperately Seatown.. they'd prob want to take I-35 anyway...
not like a focus is fun to drive no matter what roads she chooses :P

Am alittle disappointed by the interest the other cities are showing though, would have thought more Houston and Austin peeps and maybe san antino peeps would be excited about this.

Yeah I am going to see what I can do about getting the day off. I am sure we can find a place down there to eat dinner. Not sure what is down there though.

Yeah I was hoping that more Houston and San Antonio people would want to do this. We still have 13 cars plus there is still time for people to say if they want to go.

Yeah I was talking to Sam and she said that she will talk to Jen about them driving down later in the day. We have a navigation that they can use anyways.

Scott needs to hurry up and say if he is going! haha

Kerville has actually gotten pretty big over the past 5 years, as far as chain restaurants go. It used to be pittiful, but now they even have a drive-thru starbucks!

I always eat at the 'lakehouse' with my grandparents when I'm down there. It used to be Catfish King, but they didn't really change any recipes when they changed owners. There are also several good bbq places and of course...lubys

Lakehouse is good for fast food catfish stuff, I agree. Mamacitas is the best Mexican food, although they are usually very busy and I don't know if they take reservations, but it is great. We have eaten at Acapulco as well and it is VERY good, reasonably priced and just down the street from the Whitten Inn

For those that have said that they are going to go to the event, would you guys mind going ahead and paying for your hotel rooms? I have already posted the hotel info and all you would need to do is ask for Jeremy (the hotel manager) and tell him that you are with the rx8club that is coming down on oct. 24-26 and then just let him know what type of room you want and you will get the group discount.

If you have any questions just let me know. It is best just to go ahead and get the hotel stuff out of the way to make sure you have a room incase something happens. If for some reason you are not able to pay for it now just let me know.

Post up once you have paid for your room, just so that we know you are commited to going.

Thanks!

I just reserved mine. Jeremy is at a different hotel for some reason. Spoke with Tabatha. *** TURN THE VOLUME WAY DOWN IF SHE ANSWERS *** You have been warned. She gave me the group rate of $49 + tax.
No sausage parties in my room. Ladies only. 90 minutes a piece. And yes I need 89.5 minutes to recover and prep.

I believe you were the one that asked for sausage at Rack Daddy's last night...
