Touring 8 in Austin

For those in the Austin area, my dealer emailed me saying two RX-8s will be showing up at Roger Beasley North today. I forgot the colors, but one is showing up mid morning, the other will show up in the afternoon. They are the same ones that showed up at Roger Beasley South yesterday.

Oh yeah!!!

Tried to catch 'em at Mazda South yesterday, but was too late. Went over and saw 'em this morning at the north store. They wouldn't take me for a ride (much less let me drive it), but I did get to sit in it for the first time. They had a Black AT and a Yellow MT, both sport packages. I sat in the yellow MT... man it feels good!!!

The shifter is super stubby, which I love. The windows seem small from the inside, which I also love. It definitely feels like you're in a sports car. I'm a hair over 6', and the seating position was great! The back seats look like not much room, but once I climbed in them, with the front seat up snug for a comfortable, close, sport driving position, there was adequate leg room. The head room was a little less adequate in the back, but still very livable.

Sat in the passenger seat. The hump everyone talked about in the floor was of little consequence... was not bothersome at all as far as getting a comfortable seating position.

The car looks awesome in person from the outside, too! Has wide looking, aggressive stance, and from any front angle, the unique design of the front end looks great! And, man, this car feels good to sit in!!! I love this car! Can't wait for mine to get here late this week or early next. I think it's pretty obvious people are gonna love this car. It's pretty much a no brainer that I'm buyin' (of course I was 99.999% sure I was anyway). Super hot!!!

The "black" is actually Nordic Green. It sure looks black in the shade though, doesn't it?

I saw them both at the North store this morning (we live just around the coener), but if anyone else is planning on going there, you're too late now. You could try to catch them at Premiere in Georgetown, but you'll have to hurry.

I took several photos of the Blazing Yellow while I was there, and I'll upload them when I get home tonight. The green was still in the detail bay by the time I had to leave to get to work, so no photos of it.

I wondered about that. I thought it was the green at first, and it was outside, but I swear, it's hard to tell it's green. I thought I had remembered budaman saying it was black, so I then kinda quit questioning what color it was and assumed it was black. It's pretty hard to discern it's green... very dark... but probably would be alot easier sitting next to an actual black one.
