trunk flooded

i popped my trunk tonight to get a screwdriver to replace my mirror cover after i got home from work to find 5 inches of standing water in my trunk. now my $60 electric impact, $50 pair of work shoes, a couple of important papers, and a t-shirt are now ruined.

anyone else have some misfortune like mine last night with the storms?

yeah i stayed in addison last night at a friends apartment, but i live in masnfield

cars a little soggy but she will dry. i pulled everything out of the trunk and drained all the water through the bolt that holds the tools in. got most of the water out but there is still a little left in there so first thing in the morning im gonna go to the carwash adn vaccuum it all out.

all the insulation on the bottom carpet fell off as soon as i pulled it out so i gotta replace that, but other than that and the few other things its not as bad as it sounds.

My civic, after it got backed into and 'repaired' leaked water into the truck every single time it rained or I washed it.. It turned out it was coming from where the body panel overlaps the gas cap area's edge. I sealed that up with clear silicon and it stopped. But GOD it took me forever to find where it was coming from.

Hell, just think potential. Get some heat to it and voila, instant jacuzzi. Invite chicks at the mall over to check out your new mod and tell them to jump in for some pics with the 8 getting wet in your trunk, score!

I had that problem last year. I think they replaces some weatherstripping and it didn't do it anymore.

water is leaking through my trunk and making it's way into the passenger tail light..i used that rubber with the sticky side to seal the corner of the trunk lines and didn't help much wondering if anyone has any other ideas i can use? oh yeah and no my passenger tail light doesn't have any cracks cause when i empty the water it's coming out only through the holes which are the bulbs spots

thejew89, just out of curiousity, how much did you pay for new weatherstripping? I accidentially tore mine loading an oversized package into the trunk...as I live in TO Canada, it rains quite a bit here and will obviously need to get it replaced.

Cheers
