I'll do why I can to make the next ones.

@qtdude check with Laughlin Racing on tuning the 8. I lost the business card I had in the move. They do rx7's since yours is blow thru they should be able to tune it. At least a local place to start.

Yeah it's Brian Laughlin. I would do afr, oil and water temp. If your just going to do 3. You could put a small boost gauge on the steering column.

Well, 3 for now, I will probably add the racing beat at some time. I have just spent so much money on the car over the past month or so that I'm going to try and take it easy for a bit.

@Roto_Ryda We have a group of people who meet up every couple of months. Haven't done anything recently as we all seemed to have something different going on each day we tried to meet up or we got rained out. As for modified 8's.... we got a couple.

I was thinking about trying to get together this sat or sun. I'll have Gage. We could go to Andy B's or maybe head to Bartlesville and ride some go carts. I know it's kind of last minute, but would anyone be up for something.

Have you gotten your eyelids yet? I can't decide if I want to put mine on. I may just sell them and paint the eyelids on my headlights. I still need to get my rear bumper put on and order some rear camper arms. I'm looking forward to installing your coilovers. I still need to put my rear shocks back in.

I got them in today actually. I guess I should order some bigger fuel injectors too, so I can get it properly tuned. I don't actually need to large of injectors for the amount of power I will be putting out. Probably upgrade the 4 secondaries to like 650cc and put two of the old ones in the primary and I should have more then enough, or I can go all out and get some giant like 850s or 1000s and get like 5 MPG. Any comments or suggestions from the peanut gallery?

I would go 850 on 2 secondaries and leave the other 2 alone. Move the 2 you pulled to the primary position. Or just buy 4 650's. That's just me.

I think I will just look at the costs, see what is cost less, 2 850s or 4 650s

i could prob pull sat evening.
i dont have any real mods to my car yet. i got an 07 a couple mths ago. very excited about it but i am taking someones advice earlier in this forum about going to carlos in BA about transmission issues. ive read about others having the exact same issues i am and the the nelson dealership is trash. i had just gotten mine through carmax and was in the 30 day warranty and i noticed it wanting to catch or grind a lil when trying to shift at lower rpms..about 3k and it is hard to engage reverse. i know its a high rpm loving car but i wouldnt think trying to take it easy should make it catch, right? it shifts pretty strong at 6k or so but its not easy.
anyways when i took it in to the Nelson dealership off memorial, they dropped my tank by nearly a half, but a bunch of miles on it, and replaced only the recalled clutch pedal..only after they tried to get me to return the car to carmax and buy one of theirs..and to top it off, they tryed to get me to test drive an rx8 they showed me that had taco bell bags in the passenger seat and open salsa packets in the ashtray..
been a plagued buying experience but i want this car. im willing to wrestle it out with the dealer to get it right. lucky for me i reported the issue to carmax early on and since i havent gotten it fixed yet they said i could take it somewhere else and they would pay for it. woot woot
that brings me back to why im here..because id like to start putting some $ into mine mainly for preformance, and im not sure really where to start. this will be my first real car im investing money into.

BHR Ignition is the first upgrade you should get, best $500 bucks you can spend on an 8. As for performance, it really depends on what kinda money you want to spend. Big power adders are the flywheel, mid-pipe, and a CAI so you can shoot flames... then there is a bunch of lil stuff you can do that maybe add like 1 HP or something. Or you can just skip all the nonsense and get a turbo or supercharger and call it good. And Carlos is the way to go if you need any work done on your car that is out of warranty. My 8 is actually sitting in his shop at the moment waiting for the turbo to get back from BNR.

The flywheel will be the most noticeable. If you have to drop the tranny you might as well change it while it's apart or you're looking at another $400 later.

I would get the BHR flywheel if I replaced mine again. It wasn't out when I had mine installed. I have a spec flywheel. I used to have a SR motorsports flywheel but ran into some clutch issues and it got damaged. I run the stage 3 spec 6 puck clutch w/ lightweight pressure plate and flywheel. I really like it.

okay all... so we went and tryed out those go karts tonight... freakin blast... well anyways.. the owners said they would give us a package deal we could get a group special for $150.00. so 10 of us and thats $15.00 a peace.. plus it would be sweet to have the 8's lined up outside.. then we could get pic's with them... the owners are really cool... they let us go 5 rounds and we paid for 3.. lol and they will stay open as long as you want to stay... so lemme know what you guys think... and when everyone could get together if you wanted too... i think it would be a blast with all of us out there.. especially since we love to race our rx8's...
