My brother bought a new Mustang and decided to try it out. He got pegged at 120 in a 70. It got hit with $425 fine, 6 points, and a night in jail. He does not do that anymore. I have only gotton a 45 in a 35 latley. It was a $80 and 2 points.

Not in the RX-8: clocked at 92 in a 65, but was over 100 before I saw the cop. $350 ticket and license suspended.

I don't speed anymore.

I think in my state, anything more than 40 over is felony speeding. No Bueno

Back in 2004 not long after I got my RX8, I was driving home from work on the interstate. Traffic was light and I was changing lanes when the opportunity arose, then accelerating. I wasn't watching my speed (I could have been hitting triple digits). I looked in the mirror and a plain Ford Explorer with it's lights flashing is coming up on me. I pulled over and handed over the requested license and insurance card. I noted that I had a state issued safe driving sticker on my license. I had been driving a mini van for a while and hadn't gotten any tickets. He went to his truck and when he returned he said
"I know your car can handle that speed. I think you can handle that speed. The other drivers around you can't. Slow down."
With that, I was released with no ticket or warning.

Here (my State) you get given 12 points to lose, and get replaced after 3 years 'provided' you don't get caught again within that period....no points no licence.

Anyway, in my first year of owning my 8 I lost nearly all points (4 speeding fines in 12 months)..
I only had 1 point left after my 8 turned one year old....

I was not going very fast 111 kmh in a 80 (Camera)...$334.00 fine loss of 3 points.

If you are over 40 KMH (24 MPH) in any speed zone, immediate loss of licence + fine + car impounded.
Get caught more than 3 times (that is for life) over 40 KMH and "the car" you are driving gets CRUSHED, even if you do not own the car..!!

I am about to get all my points back next week...after 3 years..woo hoo! and $1,200 in fines.

For me it was 50mph in a 35mph school zone of course I was 16 years old, 1st week of getting my drivers license, at the time driving a 1996 Ford Tarus. I remember getting one hell of a lecture after the officer drawn his gun at me and told me to get out of the car with my hands up. That ticket was $400 all together. Fun Times!!

Haven't gotten a ticket in my 8 yet, but my record was 80 in a 65 with my old first vehicle, a Buick Regal..

88 in 80, just after getting off the Autobahn with a radar trap 5 meters behind the sign. Was only 15 €... I have been really lucky, though, I sometimes find myself speeding without even realizing. Not only in my 8, though...
