Wrecked 8 in the DFW (HEB) area :(

Dropped my car off at Service King in Euless this morning and my heart sank when I saw what had been towed in since I was there Saturday-wondering if the owner is on the forum??

BB GT, NICE wheels, black/red leather interior, 6MT. Looks like someone slammed into it pretty hard, the drivers side is destroyed I'll post pics in a min.

If the owner is on here, my condolences and I hope you are ok! I know from experience the 8 is an amazing vehicle as far as safety goes, you can get out without a scratch on you after even the worst collision-hope that is the case here!

That's some serious negative camber on the front left

Related, yet unrelated, we were working in the yard yesterday and heard someone peel out, followed quickly by three large crunches. Ran up to the corner to find a Mustang in someone's yard about 3 feet from the house, air bags deployed, and another vehicle with it's back end smashed in.

Moral of the story, don't park in the yard, or you'll have to blame it on a hit and run driver.

Wow Creto, that's ridiculous! Yeah, maybe the owner of the wreckage is not on the forum after all, seems like they would have posted something by now. Or maybe they are avoiding the forums like the plague, I guess that's what I did. :/ Let me know if anyone hears anything, really curious how the owner is doing.

On a random note...minor front bumper damage- $1376.27. It's times like these I smh and remember why I would NEVER report something so silly on my own insurance.

That sucks!

On that note I took my car to Service King here in Houston, a year ago. Paint is fading, chips easy. Hopefully you don't have te same problem.

I was trying to be nice, I didn't know if the owner would post. You know I don't like wheels on the 8

I hit a random item (in particular a bbq grill) about 6 months back on 635 (as I always do) and it tore a hole in my bumper and the black bee-hive patterned piece underneath but no big deal. THEN a few weeks ago my friend was borrowing the car and it was in a hit-and-run while he was parked in Southlake. Only new damage from it was paint taken off but my friend felt terrible so he pursued the claim and filed a police report, etc. I wouldn't have put the effort out but I'm glad he did cuz Southlake police found the ppl and State Farm had the repairs and rental all set up and ready a few days later so...

I figured why not, I'll take it in, get a new bumper...hopefully the paint won't chip as easily as Tronicj's, but I can't complain too much over a new free one either

*As opposed to TIRES, which I like. Kind of. Regardless of what is posted in the Texas8 thread. Creto, what a "loving bitch" you are.

He works in a little strip of shops in Southlake and this old lady saw it happen and got in her car and followed the chick, jotted the license plate number down on her hand with a pen at a red light, then came back to the strip of shops, went inside all the stores asking who had the "little red sports car" until my friend said "aw helllll....that'd be me" haha. She told him what happened, gave him the plate number, and she now gets a lifetime "preferred customer" discount at his store, haha.

Anyway, he filed a police report, the police called him a few days later saying "we found the owner of the vehicle, we are at their house, I'm going to hand the phone over now so you can get their insurance info from them before we leave."

It. Was. AWESOME.
