Many of you remember the Mazda RevItUp competitions that have toured the country for the last couple of years, well our freinds at Mazda are at it once again only this time the stakes (and price) have been lowered. The competition aspect is still around, but this year only "special prizes" and more importantly bragging rights are up for grabs! The best part... it's free!

Just zoom over to the website and sign up! Every year our club members do a great job of representing at these events (and typically dominate the competition) and we have a great time in the process so what are you waiting for!

Mazda will be giving enthusiasts a chance to compete in the new 2006 Mazda MX-5 on 2 courses additionally in a Mazda3, Mazda5 or Mazda6 on a seperate "matched time" course.

For more entertainment there will be a "School of Zoom" course where professional drivers piloting RX-8's will give hot laps (and tips) to drivers enrolled in the competition.

The event will be in Texas for 2 weekends:

Houston ~ September 24th and 25th at the Reliant Park.
Dallas ~ October 1st and 2nd at Lone Star Park.

Too far to drive in my 85 GSL-SE, too many small problems I need to give some attention to before a road trip, and I don't have the time right now. I can't complain, it has 215k on the original motor.

Are the cars autos or manuals? Typically they use autos at these events--if they are sticks thumbs up.

 

I just realized Yellow888 signed up for the 25th. I'm signed up for the 24th with allmazda and brillo.

I apparently missed something about a BBQ. Is it in another thread?

FREE BBQ, FREE Prizes, LOTS of rotary cars (55 registered so far)

A few of us went to the Oklahoma BBQ and had a blast. I promise you'll be kicking yourself in the foot for not going!!!

 

Allmazda, Brillo, eXentric and Parmer8 -- I love you guys, but you're no longer on my "A" list. How can you not come to the BBQ? And I see that 04 RX8 in your signature Allmazda so enough about your 85 having problems... Don't have the time?? MAKE THE TIME!!! 2 days? Is it really that much to ask??? This will happen only once this year!! And it may not ever happen again!! There will be PLENTY of other opportunities to drive Mazda cars -- heck, go to the dealership and test drive whenever you want!!!! What is it going to take to get you guys to get your rear ends up here?!?!?!

 

I know where Parmer8 lives. I could kidnapp his wifey and cause him to drive to the bbq to rescue her...
