ATTENTION CURRENT MazdaManiac CUSTOM CALIBRATION CUSTOMERS
As a proactive step in reducing the delays in service and the backlog of submissions, as well as helping to reduce the amount of confusion, the proliferation of incorrect submissions and general unrest and frustration with the current submission process, I have implemented a new system to streamline the process and give customers more for their money.
“e-Tuning” through e-mail has always been a bit of a compromise, especially in comparison to live tuning. Besides the time delay and sense of isolation, the possibility for errors in the process (on both sides) that arises from the inability to communicate in real-time can lead to many questions in the mind of the customer and considerable slow-downs in productivity on my end.
So, on the dates and times listed on this linked schedule, all current MazdaManiac Custom Calibration customers will be able to chat and submit their calibration requests live and in real time. There is no additional charge for these events.
If you are just beginning your submission process, or if you simply have questions regarding the calibration process, you will be able to chat live via Google Talk and send your submission materials and requests and have them fulfilled in real-time during those windows of time.
I urge you to take advantage of this process. From this time forward, this will be the only method of calibration submission accepted.
The hours of this method have been selected as being as optimal as possible to allow customers from around the globe to have reasonable access to the process and ensure equal access for everybody.
To reiterate: IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A SUBMISSION SENT BY OTHER MEANS, YOU ARE REQUESTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT TO ENSURE PROPER SERVICE. E-MAIL CALIBRATION CORRESPONDENCE IS NO LONGER ACCEPTED.
To participate, you will need an internet connection and access to Google Talk. My Google Talk user name is the.mazda.maniac. You can download the chat client here:
http://www.google.com/talk/install.html
You must install the actual chat client – the WEB-browser based version does not allow file sharing.
You will also need to provide proof of your eligibility in the form of your Google Checkout transaction ID or your invoice if you were permitted to use a different payment format for your AccessPORT or Calibration Service.
Additional details will be provided as needed.

MM, this sounds like a good idea. My tuning was supposed to start March 1, but I'm not ready yet (submitted nothing) and you are still extremely busy, so I will be sending you an email shortly from the correct account asking to extend the start of tuning until May. That should help you out a bit more. :-)

This is exciting... I hope this works...
If what im reading is correct it would be possible to get more than one calibration in one day? or like get the base tune calibrated on Tuesday and come back with the new datalogs on thursday?

I'm game. I accidentally already sent an invite (just withdrew it -- never used the app before). I can only imagine how busy your Google Talk client will be if this takes off.
From a customer service standpoint this has great potential; however, from my experience at a helpdesk it can get overwhelming quickly (I've hesitated adding customers to my contacts list after just a couple). Granted, you (hopefully) won't have additional burdens of being attached to a phone or other things that hold higher work priority. I hope this works out well for you.

Hmmm, this could work. I will stay tuned and see how it turns out. Those of us that bought the Cobb without the tuning service can get in on this just like the rest right?

Cool. You would still have to purchase the Calibration Service to do that, but you would be eligible at that point.

What fortuitous timing! I am picking up the car from getting the nasty vacuum leak fixed either tonight or Monday from the shop and was a bit wary that the tune might be off afterwards and I get to work from home on Tuesdays
