I replaced mine just about 2 months b4 Wayne replace it again !

Reason why I replaced it ? becuz I was getting misfires @ high rpms. and those "misfire coils" had only like 15K miles on them.

I dunno why Wayne replaced it again. but hey its free so why not ? (if I knew they're that good earlier, I could've just took my car there. save my coils for later oh well)

Your AFRs are typical for the RX-8.
The AP will give you a good bump in power, but, as other people have pointed out here, it will do a ton of other good stuff for your general driving experience.

Getting those AFRs out of the basement will be a good start. After the AP is set up right, you should be in the high 12's, low 13's.

trying to figure this datalogger out, so I can send some better info to MM for my AP map, and now I noticed that after I went for a drive that it seems like my car drops really fast when idling down at around 1300 to 1000 and seems to want to back fire a bit. I didn't notice that before but maybe I'm imagining it.

Same here but starting at around 5k with a 4AT N/A 100% stock.

Hey guys quick question, just installed my AP and I want to log the afr data. On my data logger, it doesn't give afr directly. Is AFR same as Stoichiometric ratio * WBO2 Output Voltage (lambda)?

~ 14.7 * lambda

Does octane matter in this formula?

There should be a parameter for "equivalence ratio." That is the number you multiply by 14.7. That will get your AFR.

OK let me flash my car first!
I still have 2 more hours till i can cut out of work early.. Then I have to drive home, flash my car, and I can send you the info, except for the AFRs. I still have to find a datalogger I can use for that (possibly thursday night meet?).

Maybe I'll just take it to the dyno again, although I'd hate to do that before I get my lack of engine power issue resolved. That reminds me, will changing coils affect the tune you make?

Here's a reduced screen shot of one of my captures from my datalogger, if any one wanted to see. My car is completely stock, though I do pre-mix. This is with 1a on my car.

I got my EFIDUDE CAN logger today and ran out and did a 3rd gear run. The provided software needs some work but is functional.

The export to csv option writes out easier to use dimensional data as compared to sCANalyser.

I think with a little work, the included ProLogger app can be a one stop shop for producing usable graphical logs.... perhaps I just need to tinker with it a little more... a filter option would work well.

Here's the 3rd gear data after a little work in Excel:

anyone else have some thin whisps of oily blueish/black smoke on cold starts? I thought it was just the normal water vapor fr awhile, but it was like 70 def F this morning so my exhaust shouldn't have water vapor....

I'm seeing the exact same thing on my car (2004 6MT GT). I was thinking that it could be a problem with the APV motor due to the RPM range, but now I'm kinda doubting that. It's weird to see so many people with the exact same symptoms.....we all can't be having the same mechanical issues.

I'm having my APV gearset fixed this coming Monday per this bulletin. I don't have the associated MIL, but I figured that it couldn't hurt. We'll see if it makes any difference at all.

I think you may just be too rich. Your calibration (and several others) may just need the secondary injectors to be scaled.
The "acceptable" range variation for that injector is pretty broad.

Nah. Its just oil. I've got the OMP jacked way up - especially in the cold-start region. That is where your motor takes the most abuse.

If my coils are bad, will that throw off AFR data or affect my tune in any way?

It will throw off your readings (and your power).
