How to use AccessPORT on EU-models
Hi all,
i have an european Rx-8 and often drive it on a racetrack. So the AccsessPORT is very interesting for me because MM has setup it to deliver more Oil. I think this will reduce wear on the Engine.
Also some more HP with the 98Oktan Fuel and Greedy Exhaust with Freeflow CAT would be fine
.
I already read here that it doesn't work with EU Models. So woul it be a solution to get a used ECU from an Crashed US Model and to exchange it before attaching the AccessPORT and updating the ECU? Also i can take my old ecu and connect before going to the Test derpartment for emission tests
.
Thank you for your help in advance.

It's not that we couldnt read, it wasnt quite as clear cut as I would have liked. I followed the directions and was still slightly uncertain. Start the car, warm it, drive it around the block, choose the map based on STFT... wasnt exactly certain at what point to read the STFT with the way it was phrased and based off a PM he sent in reply to a question of mine. And I was expecting the STFT to be a more static number, staying for more than a second or 2, but it was all over the place. So it was mostly just clarification, not actual instructions that I was looking for... and the video provided that.

First time post/AccessPort impressions quick newbie question.
Been enjoying this forum for about a month now around the time I got my 8.
Very good info on here.
Just got my Accessport yesterday. So far very impressed with how much smoother
the power delivery is even if not a significant hp upgrade. The delivery is much sooner.
I put in the base map and my STFT's were already close to 0 I assume that leaving it with the base map vs. one of the trims then is just fine yes?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick reply.
Haven't had a chance yet to do much WOT use. A/Fs thus far have been
around the 14s or so though under higher load conditions.
Lowest I've seen it go is high 13s.
Thanks again.

Jeff, did my last e-mail request make it there? Just want to make sure you have it before going out of town.
Also, would a traditional dyno graph would provide the info you need to optimize, as long as it has AFR? Won't have data logging ability, but might be able to dyno in August.

Dynos are all over the place, literally and figuratively.
Basically, the AccessPORT is a "harmony" mod.
If you are fortunate to have one of the engine/PCM combinations that runs lean and oils correctly (and doesn't run too hot), the AccessPORT will add very little power over just the AEM intake and a CAT-less midpipe.
Very few people are that fortunate, however.
If you have the typical RX-8 that runs around 11:1 at WOT, adding the AccessPORT after the midpipe can yield over 20 HP.
