"The insults and such are definitely not needed"
"Jeff actually posts and responds to posts in this thread"
"we haven't had any luck getting email responses for months"
maby he should spend more time responding to emails instead of playing on the web
this should be about the cobb ap, not a support page for a retailer who has his own website

They are ALL a month old, now.
I sent out 30 or so new groups last night.
It takes about 15 minutes for even a basic adjustment (with good, useful data). You do the math.
Not to mention the complete re-write of the basic calibration set (11 base calibrations, times 4 potential induction applications, times 10 model applications, times 4 to 7 potentially different injector setups, times 2 different coil applications).
Add to that the fact that I have NO IDEA who anyone is on this forum.
I get bitched at here by screen names that I can't identify by the owner list because seemingly no one follows the correspondence directions.
I've been trying to compile a spread sheet, but it is growing faster than I can administrate.
Like I said - if I was actually making any money at this, I would hire someone to organize my workspace.
But, by the time I pay shipping and taxes, I break even on the sales and I don't charge for the calibrations.
Add to that my actual job work time, my travel schedule (I lose money on the dyno days, too), my race schedule, my family fatality rate and time spent on the other BHR projects and its a total loss.

Wow. Nice.
There are over 300 of you out there now.
About 120 of you are incapable of sending a useful data log or following the startup directions.
20 or 30 have legitimate issues due to MAF placement or customized applications.
My "AccessPORT Correspondence" folder has 738 e-mails in it as of 12pm, PDT.
I am NOT going to even attempt to make an excuse for my administrative skills. Obviously, I don't give a **** because the money has hit my pocket.
Oh, that's right. I do this for free. I forgot.
Next time, I'll start charging for the calibrations. If I can remember.

Since SO many people here don't know how to send proper data, etc I need someone who is good at Excel to volunteer.
How about a quick DIY on EXACTLY what to data to log and then step by step instructions on how to Graph it. (WOT operation in second and third gears with AFR, RPM and MAF or load show)
Jeff: do you want load calculated or absolute? do you care?
I tried using Hymees instructions and I had issues with scaling stuff to fit on a graph.
I imagine that the Scanalyser and the efidude are the two most popular choices: anyone want to try and tackle this?
I for one would be grateful for the instructions and if at the end of the day it makes it easier for all of us to get maps...
just a thought...

I would love to know how to create graphs using excell. Also I'm still not sure what to send how to send it and what order it needs to be in. If someone would teach me i'm sure we could team up and help jeff out god knows this is getting old and I'm sure jeff is tired of the AP by now. Lets try and get a team of ppl together to help things out for jeff and more importantly other users. I grow tired myself of not knowing where I stand and what to do with what I have. BTW I am no fan boy as posted previously in the thread. But it deffinatly seems we need to come together and figure this all out.

Kane / Daemos:
if you guys want to start new threads, "D.I.Y. Datalog / Graph your AP with Scanalyser" with detailed instructions that would rock.
Since people's comfort levels with Excel will vary greatly, I would say try and take "baby steps" the whole way. Think, " Taj proof"

kane: I'll take some new logs for you tonight using the scanalyser and send it to you.
I just realized that I have my STFT and LTFT showing on my scanalyser which means it logged those parameters and probably resulted in more useless figures for Jeff to sort through. (sorry Jeff! I blame Chewie... )

I have not seen the scanalyser graphs so I don't know what they look like, I'll do it with the EFIdude.
IF anyone wants to post it here so I can d/l it i'll take a crack at it.

Excel Graphing with sCANalyser
These same instructions should work with the ATR beta, however some slight modifications may be necessary with 4-6.
1. Perform Datalogging with sCANalyser, capturing at a minimum: AFR, RPM, MAF and Load (I also include MPH and LTFT)
2. Open the .csv file created with sCANanylser in Excel and save it as file type .xls
3. Insert 2 additional columns
4. In the 1st new column divide the MAF column values by 10
5. In the 2nd new column divide the Load column values by 10
6. Create appropriate labels for the 2 new columns; example: MAF (g/S)/10 and LoadCalculated (%)/10
7. Select the necessary columns from Excel worksheet; (AFR, RPM, MAF (g/S)/10, and LoadCalculated (%)/10)
8. Insert Chart > Line > choose the top left Chart sub-type
9. Series Tab > Remove RPM from Series
10. Then for Category (X) axis labels choose your RPM column
11. Click Next
12. Legend Tab > For Placement select Top
13. Click Next
14. Place chart as new sheet
15. Click Finish
16. Double-Click the Y-Axis
17. Scale Tab > Type in 1 for Major unit then click OK
18. Select the graph and click Edit > Copy
19. Open mspaint and Paste the selected graph
20. Save the graph in mspaint in JPG format
And since an example would be nice...

Jeff: put this link if your first post, it should be pretty helpful once we get a few more screenshots, FAQ's, etc

In defense of us users: It was sometimes a bit difficult to know if I should resend all my info when Jeff said he also wanted a cruise map, or if my previous info was already in the queue so I shouldn't bother.
And the first page is a lot of info to take in, if I get the time I might attempt to set it up a bit simpler (which can perhaps be used as an alternative link or something).
In defense of Jeff: It took around 3 weeks to get mine after I submitted all the info correctly, I can live with that, some of you have ridicilous demands, I assume most of you didn't pay anything extra for the calibrations. And looking at posts here it's clear that many people are reading his instructions and still not doing what it says (as in not attaching the map, or not attaching a graphical datalog).
----------------------------
I mapped mine just by repetetive accelerations and looking step by step at values, took notes, and then plotted it into a Adobe Fireworks grid. After getting his new map I don't think that will work as it was more bouncy in high rpms, so now I gotta try the logger in Race. But you stock map people can probably do the manual method, I can provide the Fireworks file

Jeff, I think I've been very cordial and respectful both in my posts and my emails. I understand fully your workload and the fact that you aren't making enough money on this to make the hassle worth it. That being said, I followed the directions to the letter, I included all of the required information. I followed up when I was concerned that my email hadn't made it to you and you assured me you would look at it. You responded to comment on my choice of turbo but still didn't send me the files. The files I was asking for weren't even modifications, but just the base FI maps.
I understand you getting pissed off at random people yelling at you on the internet, because that isn't doing anybody any good, but I feel like I have a pretty legitimate concern that my emails aren't being answered and I have given you the email with your form filled out showing what my Rx8Club name is etc so I could be contacted. If there is absolutely anything I need to provide you to get the maps, please let me know and I will do it.
I'm honestly just as frustrated as some of the less civil people, because a week after I changed to the base MM maps I experienced a severe catalytic converter problem, probably due to the leaner maps and lack of cat-saver mode. I never got a response about it when I questioned you, or updated maps. Then I decided to wait to use the AccessPORT until I got my turbo installed so I requested the FI maps because I knew it would take a while to get to my email. I know you have a lot of email and you have a bunch of stuff going on, but you offered the "free" tunes as a product for us to buy the AccessPORT through you. The tunes have a time limit on them as well. Those two factors make it frustrating for people waiting on you for tunes. If there are too many people to support and the money isn't worth it, then maybe you need to suspend selling the product or at least the custom tunes until you can get caught up.
It isn't fair to your customers to wait months for a product they paid for and can't use, when in at least some cases it is through no fault of their own. I can't speak for the folks who can't follow directions and then blame you, but that isn't 100% of the people who are having complaints with the service.

The only problem that I have is communication. If I did send something and it wasn't complete then just tell me what I need to send. I know I filled out that email exactly like how the instructions stated, I put my screen name too, we talked back and forth and I even sent you the map like you requested. However I will try and get some new datalogging so I can resend everything and hopefully this time it will get through. Here is to hoping!

It kinda blows my mind how you guys are making such a big deal with the data logs. At the moment, I do not have the ability to do datalogs.....
So when Jeff emailed everyone the correct way of requesting the calibrations, I asked him what I should do about data. He said: "Really, you can do it with a pen and paper and a co-driver.
Just track your displayed AFR (shown as "equivalence ratio on the AP) and write it down."
so...that's what I did today and am waiting for a response. And yes I used to proper format in the email, in fact I replied to it, like it says so I wouldn't miss anything.
