Original Turbo 'd Auto !!
I far as I know MM is the only person that is providing this service for us NA 8 and FI'd 8 owners.
Yes. I know it's frustrating to wait 4-6 weeks for that rebate check, or 2 months for that modified tune you requested (you being whomever).
Jeff has a life also and another job.
Peace

I suggest not resending, it'll only clog up Jeff's inbox even more.

Anyone running their own maps yet? I may be by the end of the week...
So far I adjusted the...
Rev Limit
Cold Rev Limit Temp
Coolant Fan Activation
MAF Calibration
MOP
and have 3/4 of the fuel maps done
just have to pick an ignition timing strategy yet...

You just gave me a f00king heart attack Jeff. For a second there I thought I'd put the wrong subject line in.
access to my email from my Cell FTMFW! (Subject line confirmed, it was right)
For you lazy bastards: subject line needs to be AccessPORT Calibration Service.![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
(in other words, just hit reply to the email Jeff most likely sent you)

thats gonna be the gatekeeper for most whoare willing to touch it themselves. Fueling has been beat to death 5 times over here, and the rest of the stuff is mostly easy enough. But ignition is something thats still a sort of "black art", which is exactly why i started the Rotary ignition timing thread.

It might be wise to set up a web form that has some validation on the entered fields to prevent a lot of this nonsense. It could also enter the information into a help-ticket or bug-tracking type of system. That way any correspondence for a given calibration service would be in a single place instead of spread across multiple e-mails, and it could send a confirmation of receipt to the user when the ticket was created. Not that that's a super easy thing to just throw up, but it might be worth it in the long run.

I'm betting you could find somebody to set it up for a free AccessPort
If I ever get to the point where I'm not crazy busy myself, I might be willing to do it... but it's going to be a while before that happens.

Hell, I can probably set up a validated web-form for you for free Jeff. Do you care what technology is used for the component? I could write it in Flex and you could drop it right into your existing webpage. That would probably clear about about 50% of the problems you have with people sending you the wrong thing.

Let me know if you would like me to resend you the data. It was entitled AccessPORT Calibration Service and contained 3 graphs, 2nd gear WOT, 3rd gear WOT and 4th gear cruising. As well as asking you how you obtain 22mpg. This would be nice because I'm leaving on a long roadtrip on Sunday but won't have access to the internet after Friday night.
I'm trying to get as much done before winter hits since the tuning service I have expires during winter...and can't really do any data logging in winter here =)

quick question... What rpm are people generally getting to and what has been the highest rpm reached without the power dropping off? What, in theory, would be the highest rpm that can be done without risking the safety/reliability of the engine and transmission?
Sorry if this has been covered, currently can't search to find it...

i need light shed on the OMP maps... theres a load map and a throttle based map. How do they interact with each other? Is the throttle there mearly as a backup if the maf (and therefore load calc) fails or does it modify the load map or is it whichever is greater wins???
Also the Load Limit map... why is it so close from Mazda to the actual VE and whats the incentive to keeping extremely close to the VE (again in case of a maf failure?)

Well, I don't think theres too much going on honestly besides what Mazda gave us stock. Cobb has pretty much stock leading and tightened the trailing up to a 5 degrees split at WOT. Racing Beat doesn't touch the ingnition. Jeff seems to only make changes at partial throttle from my observations. Scott told me he's seen best results with a 15 degree split and stock leading.
