Yes, you're correct that leaner air/fuel mixtures tend to create higher exhaust temps.

As for the european accessport...I have no idea when per say but I know it's being worked on so hold tight and as soon as it can be purchased you'll find out here first.
As far as i know, somebody in Greece did a AP map setting for the european model ... based on the information out here, that looks like a real good deal.
But a customized map will be the better deal i think.
So i hope that MM will offer a map for europeans too and the size of the box will not exceed the size of a gift box

^^ Jeff was out of town all weekend, we partied like rock stars in Laughlin and Lake Havasu.
I believe he got back yesterday morning for an AutoCross event so I'm sure he's resting up and will get to emails in the next day or two.

OK... thanks to Dan at Cobb for solving my ATR map CEL for the eccentric shaft

Here's a couple things the could fix the issue.

- Do not modify the left three cells of the MAF Calibration table. The car will never see these values while the engine is running so I see no reason to modify these values.
- Set the MAF Limit (Min.) table appropriately if they choose to modify the MAF Calibration table (left three cells). This value will need to be set below a value that the car sees when it it keyed on and not running.

I really didn't do anything ground breaking yet... not too difficult actually

- I started with Cobb's stage 1 which made my car run hyper lean.
- I looked at the LTFT's of my car on the stock map and they were around 6%. So I multiplied the maf cal by 1.06. This coincidently matched jeff's +6%.
- I copied Cobbs fuel maps to excel. Copied the stock maps to excel. Made a table that took the difference between the two. Made another table of the difference table multiplied by .5 because I was so lean before. Made a third table by adding the stock table to the .5x table and uploaded it.
- Made the fans turn on per Racing Beat's flash information.
- Turned up the MOP by 3 steps through most of the map.
- Put in the stock igintion tables just to be safe as Cobb's are pretty aggressive

...uploaded, logged, and i'm pretty damn close already

my main motivation was I'll be getting the coil upgrade this weekend, didn't like the fact that jeff had a whole bunch of CEL's turned off (cause I'll need to know if i'm suddenly getting misfires), and figured i better not be running pig rich and crap up the new spark plugs i'm putting in...

... so a little motivation went a long way ...

cool, cool.

The fact that I am FI makes me hesitant also. But I suppose it's easy enough to fubar it even if you are FI or NA. Oh well. In conclusion...Thanks Jeff for all your help!

That looks like a nice start. A couple of questions...I did the same kind of comparison between the Cobb Stock Style maps and the Cobb Stage 1 and noticed that the AFR tables for gears 1-3 didn't appear to be modified between the two, but the tables for gears 4-6 was. Did you notice the same?

Also, did you mean to say that the Cobb map made your car run super rich...not super lean?

I have also been running my own map for the past 3 weeks with a FI car. Its cool as long as you follow the directions(PDF file) and start conservatively.

The primary reason that the misfire CEL has been switched off is because the factory knock sensor is completly useless. It reports misfires when they don't happen and doesn't report them when they do.

I don't recall is this issue has been addressed with the 2009's or not, but at least up to 2006 the sensor doesn't work as advertised.

There's no reason to have the CEL for FI because, let's be honest, by the time that thing goes off it's too late anyway.

Question, and sorry if this was answered already, but the only answers I found weren't definite enough for me to actually make the purchase.

By "delete the CEL", does this mean I can pass emissions without a Cat, since there will be no CEL to make me fail?

If so..I'm buying! Haha, thanks~

The Accessport is not currently compatible with the european PCM but COBB is working on making that possible. As soon as it's able to be purchased you'll find out here.

No, there was a definate difference between the stock and cobb tables at high load and rpms... at least on my maps

The cobb tune made my car run 15's at WOT when I first tried it back in the spring

The misfire CEL is triggered off of calculations based on the eccentric shaft sensor - not the knock sensor. Last time I blew a coil, I had a misfire CEL. In my experience it works and there is not a good reason to disable it.
