No Sir,
I hit 60 days tonight at midnight. I sent you the information on Aug.21st. I even sent you a follow upemail asking if you got all the information you needed and you replied "Yes. I got your information on the 23rd." I used the correct format. I haven't received anything from you since. Hopefully we can get this cleared soon.
Thanks...

Hey Jeff,
Good to hear from ya! For those of us that you've "tuned" outside the normal process, like the inperson tuning you did in Canada, should we be sending you the maps we got as a result of that kind of event or is it something that you already have on file? Or am I completely missing the mark and we have a completely new way to go about getting back to 12.1?
I'm assuming the idea is to get us all on the "right" set of maps moving forward. With that there are a couple tweaks I think I want made, mainly increasing my rev limit, but I don't mean to try to hash all that out here... just trying to get a feel for the best way to proceed given the somwhat unique nature of how we arrived at my final tune.

No one on my list is 60 days out, so there is something wrong.
I'm am down to 26 days now and I am about to send all 240+ customers a whole new set with new instructions and new procedures.
I still have quite a few people not following directions and/or using e-mail addresses that do not correspond to their purchase.

September 10th - Sent data logs and graph for update to NA calibration.
September 22nd - Purchased a turbo kit so sent update requesting default FI maps.
September 22nd - Sent another email with additional information about my turbo setup.
September 22nd - I received a response asking about who was doing my fabrication work.
September 23rd - I sent a reply with more information about my turbo setup in response to the question about fabrication work.
As I said in my email today, if there is anything I need to provide please let me know and I will do so. I have used the same email address with the "AccessPORT Calibration Service" subject which was apparently correct because you responded to ask about the turbo fabrication work, and included the big block of data you requested each and every time I sent an email, just to make sure.

How do I go about getting the graphical data for my maps? I payed $300 to MazdaManiac and nothings came out of it. I didnt know by purchasing maps taht I might need additional software...do I have to pay to use scanalyser? Is there any way around this?
#4431
Use the live data display on the accessport and have someone ride with you to note the AFR readouts for 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear WOT pulls. Next, cruise in 3rd or 4th gear above 4200 RPMS for 20 seconds to get the PCM to switch to open loop and note the AFR readouts during cruise.
Submit that data using the EXACT steps listed in the first post of this thread and MazdaManiac will send you a custom calibration. You then repeat these steps until the values are within the desired areas.

Is the AP's data logging function working? (I haven't messed with it since I have my trusty scanalyser)

There STILL seems to be a gross misunderstanding of how to get adjusted calibrations and, more importantly, WHY to get adjusted calibrations.
First of all, there will NOT be some magic combination of fuel/spark/oil that will suddenly turn your RX-8 into a Viper.
I have people sending me "data" with perfect AFRs looking for some sort of adjustment.
What is it you want me to adjust? The power ****?
If your AFRs are dead on and the car is running smoothly, you have reached the end of the process. There is no "magic".
Second, I have people sending me MASSIVE, raw Excel files and text files with hundreds or thousands of data points.
I don't need that and can't use it.
There is a lot of complaining going on that there is some need for massive datalogging capability and lots of in-depth analysis of the engine output and combustion process.
You are doing both of us a disservice by providing this massive data dump.
Grab a sheet of paper and take a drive.
I ONLY need the WOT AFR values in 2nd and 3rd gear as a crude line on a two axis graph.
This will suffice:
![](http://www.mazdamaniac.com/images/misc/data.jpg)
Then, drive the car at 4200 RPM for a half a minute on a level surface in 4th with the cruise control on and see what the AFR "flips" to when it goes into open loop. White that value down as well.
Send it off to me.
That's pretty much it.
I NEED the data sent to me in the format indicated in post one and the e-mail that is sent to every AccessPORT customer TO THE E-MAIL ADDRESS THAT WAS USED TO PURCHASE THE UNIT.
This is the only way I can identify you.
I don't know your name. I don't know your screen name. I don't know your address or anything else.
That is all.

To be enrolled in this service, please respond to this e-mail with the following information:
A screen shot of your logging software or an Excel graph is best.
Please list any concerns or issues you have noted.
Enrollment e-mails will be rejected if you omit any of the emboldened data above or fail to attach your current calibration.

so will this do as graphs before I even think about sending. FYI not sure whats going on with my AFR but when I go full throttle in 1st the AFR spikes lean but is fine in second. Then when i wot 2nd it spikes lean if I don't use first1st. 3rd and 4th are always ok though.

Jeff,
does that mean that I will be getting my first tune w/ the rest of the 240+ people you're re-doing? What's the wait time on that, about 2-3 weeks? I'm just looking for an ETA on when to expect it. Thanx...

I'm not sure what you want done to this.
Simply saying its "too rich" doesn't give me anything to work with.
I need to know how rich, where and under what conditions.

Hi Jeff,
One thing that may help reduce the email churn and people anxiously looking for their next calibration is a published list at the begining of this thread with current open calibration requests and request receipt date on your list by screen name.
