MM or annyone else- Can you tell me why when I go WOT in 1st gear i get super lean but 2nd gear is ok. Then when I drive normal thru 1st and go WOT in 2nd I get retarded lean again?
this is not a hit or miss thing ither it happens every single time. I can provide you a few 1st and 2nd gear grahps if it will help

MM-Also I sent an email on 10/21/08 that describes this problem and requested a new map-just FYI.

I hate to take the improper/unofficial line of communication, but I'll make a similar post:

Jeff- since you appear to be communicating on this thread now, please let me know about the update request I emailed to you on Nov 3rd. (from: elysium19@gmail.com) My current map, data logs, those 10 standard questions, and all the appropriate information was included in the email.

Thank you....

Not sure, but it could be that your MAF reading is laggy causing a sudden increase in the amount of air being taken in to not be seen immediately. Have you ever cleaned your MAF?

1st and 2nd gear are on the same fuel map, so it is probably a sensor somewhere.
Have you tried it with the DSC off?

twice in the last 6mth. I put in a K&N drop in and wanted to make sure the oil isn't cakeing up on the sensor. Used CRC MAF cleaner

Started a thread in tech garage

General question.. maybe not the best place but would getting a midpipe later on down the road benefit from getting a new calibration?

Jeff: I resent my email with my concerns ^_^ I hope this clarifies things, sorry!

I'm running rich above 8000 rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear, as well as wanting to know if I can get a leaner idle and cruising for better a/f since I don't have a catalytic converter to worry about (as it seems the car was designed rich to preserve the life of the cat)

dropping stock cat and going highflow or catless midpipe = new tune

Having your vehicle custom tuned means that any time you do anything that effects the engine performance of your vehicle will require an adjustment to the tune.

New exhaust? New tune...

New ignition system? New tune...

It's all part of the fun!

Why would I have to "re-tune" my car for a new exhaust? Seems with the maps, the main things being tweaked are AFRs, timing, and other things more related to longevity than to outright performance (fan temps, oil metering, etc). Please tell me how you can tune for a specific exhaust.

There is no need for a re-tune when adding new parts unless said parts actually change your A/F ratios.
So, midpipes, exhaust, coils, etc = no re-tune.

I would say coils is a maybe - in open loop if you are getting a lot of misfires and you've tuned around it - new coils may throw your AF curves off; and it won't self correct since your in open loop.
