Hey Jeff.
I don't have an accurate set of calibrations. I only have a single file that you edited like crazy.
Do I just send you that one file so that you can update it?

Yet another complete re-work of my library is under way.
This will require everyone that is in need of a new calibration to "start over", but that shouldn't be terribly stressful for most.
The new AccessPORT firmware is awesome. Go get it (links in the first post).
If you have custom calibrations which contain specialized info (fuel injector upgrades, unusual intakes, FI, etc.) there will still be an additional step after acquiring the new "base" calibrations to match your particular application.
Look for the first post to be updated with a new procedure and information.
All original purchasers are entitled to updates, regardless of how long you have had your AccessPORT, so don't worry about the time limitation on your Calibration Service contract.
Furthermore - the Asian, European and Australian versions are now ready. You can place your order by following the link in my SIG or go to
http://www.mazdamaniac.com/cobb/accessport.htm
Units will begin shipping in January to Europe, but almost immediately to Asia and Australia or any region that ships Asian or European spec RX-8s.
LOL.
Yeah, your stuff should ship tomorrow or Monday.

Ill be talking to my rotary mechanic to set up an appointment for a closeby saturday to install everything.
By the way id like to say that I am very happy with your customer support since you got out of that hole you were in with all the work. Really a big hands up, you have made me want to keep the mods and make this all work

You get your base set, then datalog with them, send them to jeff asking him what you'd like done, wait, and he'll send you a new map whenever he can.

what are the changes? I wouldn't mind getting a set, would give me an excuse to use the AP data logger at least.

I need my dwell settings changed back to stock because I upgraded from the Mazport coils to the BHR yukon coils.

When the 6 months are up, will I still be getting updates for changes that COBB have done that affects the maps? Or could we risk that something COBB does in future software versions will make our previous maps faulty?

I have to believe that eventually, Cobb isn't going to be putting out any more updates for this thing. I'm updating today and datalogging this weekend. Is it tough to do with the new update?
MM: I sent an email asking for the new calibrations. 2005 MT California model. That way I'm up to date on the calibrations when I do my datalogging

They will have to beat the AEM, which gains nearly nothing on its own, but can account for 12 or so with the right exhaust and tuning.
They won't.
The MAF tube needs to be as straight as possible (their bend isn't an issue, I don't think), with no transitions in size a MINUMUM of 3" to either side of the MAF itself. 6" is best.
They need at least one flow corrector (screen) and the inside diameter of the tube needs to be 3.375 inches.

If I have an AP, and a catless midpipe, and otherwise stock (stock intake) and my car is tuned by you, and then I put on the AEM, and you re-tune, what would you estimate the gain would be?

Maybe 7 - 10 HP.
Could be up to 15 or so, but stock exhaust is a restriction and tuning that last few HP out is not practical via long-distance.
My calibrations get you very close (and sometimes all the way there), but there is no guarantee when you are talking such small margins.
