Cobb AccessPORT Discussion

There is a "2b_x" series also.
There are essentially 3 different MAF "reactions" that I am dealing with (not including the various turbo issues), so if you are on "NA 1c_2b", you will have a "NA 2c_2b" that is leaner up to and has more agressive ignition tuning.

MM,
I have read that the stock flash has AFR of low 11's at WOT. So I'm essentially seeing the same #'s as stock. On post #459 you stated "Yeah, WOT with a properly trimmed AP map should be12.9:1 - 13.7:1,depending on the "level".
I am seeing 11.0 at WOT, is there a map to correct this?

one tip: when your in the live views mode and the car is on, remember to press cancel and exit out of the live mode BEFORE turning the car off, otherwise you will get a connection error next time you start the car. If you forget, simply unplug and replug the obd connector and it should be able to connect again
another tip: if you are seeing AFR's of 14+ at wide open throttle above 5k rpms, it most likely means you will need to go to the 1B series maps. dont continuously run your car at WOT with those afrs...i dont think its good for it...

As I mentioned earlier I am on the road for the next 11 days and will be back in Phoenix next week to send people new files.

Re-read the thread. You get maps and someone in your area can fine tune it.

I have been working with Jeff for over a week now but since he is out I have some questions. I have been running v1_3a for about 7 driving cycles, here is my data: STFT -1/1, LTFT 9, AFR 15/15.2 (all this data is at idle). My AFR in 1st gear thru 3rd gears are in the 11s and 12s. My issue is with my LTFT. Can I live with a 9 LTFT or should I move to v1_5a? Thanks for the help.

I want to start doing some data logging like some of you are doing. This way I can learn and it will also help MM with my calibrations. I know there are a few products out there (efidude, scangauge etc...). Which one would be the best choice, I don't want to spend allot of money. I just need something simple that will do the job. Any recommendations?

Power!!
I have the autoenginuity tool and that works fine for me. It also has a nice virtual dyno feature that gives you net horsepower. It makes it easy to compare mods to your car.
The Hymee scanalyser is very nice and made just for the RX8. It has a nice virtual gauge setup if you want to do some real time virtual dash stuff with a carputer or a laptop.

That looks great but maybe to much for what I'm looking for. The EFIDude prologger is $150, I know there has been lots of back and forth with them but what do you make of it's functions and quality? Once Cobb comes out with something I can switch to that but for the meantime something simple and inexpensive would do the trick. Just not sure how good the EFIDude is as a logging tool.

I ordered an AccessPORT unit from the mazdamaniac.com site about a week ago. Has everyone else that ordered one received tracking information by email, or do you need to ask for that here?

so he may be slow to respond because of this. give him some time =)
