devildog: click the " + " button for everyone you want to quote and then JUST click the Quote button on the LAST person you're quoting.

ok. now i recieved the AP, and i plug it into the OBD dongle and have the key off, and then i turn it on once it gets to the install screen, and press install, but it says that it cannot communicate with the ECU. i dont know what is wrong as everything is plugged in correctly. does anyone know what could be the issue?

Mine did the same thing a few times. Make sure when you turn the key to ON that you turn it all the way, not just to the ACC position.

You are just turning the key to on and not starting the car right? That's all I can think of besides it getting knocked loose at the OBD connector.

all i do it plug the ap in when the ignitioon is off

and then turn it to on and wait for all the little lights (dash lights) to settle and then try to install ... should take about 5-8 seconds or so but just wait for 10

hope that works

well i called cobb, and the guy thinks that it may be an incorrect OBD dongle firmware. but he will be calling me back in 30 to 45 mins when the head guy there gets back from lunch.

ban lifted this morning. Has not returned.
MM had a super busy weekend with the dyno day in SoCal (which went for 14+ hours! ) and then drove back to AZ early the next morning for a meet.

He hasn't resurfaced...

well actually the thing is that the dongle with the firmware is actually newer than what is on the AP, so Cobb is sending me a firware update and everything should work properly then.

Jeff discovered that issue on Saturday.
He had an AP that wouldn't connect to any cars. Then he decided to try w/ a different dongle and it worked. Turns out the firmware on the dongle was the issue.
Seems that COBB decided to upgrade the firmware on the dongle and now it doesn't connect to the 8. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

The Cobb unit continues to impress me. We had a dyno day on Saturday (mustang dyno was acting up a bit and reading really low) BUT I increased power on consecutive pulls with Jeff changing maps.

I ended up +19 hp from my first pull. I'll of course hit up another dyno in the near future to confirm but car feels super smooth, seems to pull better in mid range and is even getting better mileage. (it was running PIG RICH on oem flash)

so everything installed properly, and did my first run. STFT at idle was between 2 and -2 90% of the time. AFR's at cruise and idle were around 14.7 to 15.1 and under WOT the it was from 12.9 to 14.
