Cobb AccessPORT Discussion

Jeff drove 8 hours tonight to street tune my car. I think he's a glutton for punshment.
He fixed a lean issue at open loop cruising, checked out my exhaust leak, checked the engine compression on my car, and basically it rockors. Also compression is good on the engine. I'm relieved to hear it.
The car runs well enough that I would feel comfortable bringing it back for another dyno run, but I'm going to try to wait till end of this week/next week for the turboxs exhaust to arrive before I do it.

In all truth you can't base your judgment on the base maps he sent you. Once you get dialed in on those there is always his stage II maps. Just get dialed in on the current maps then just wait for MM's input. If you can get a logger to aid him in dialing you in (EFidude $150). A dyno tune would obviously yield you the most power. Considering what other people have paid for an extra 3 HP this AP unit it pretty much the best bang for the buck, especially for those that are FI or going FI.

I was able to hang and pull on a street bike from a 70 mph roll with 2 adults in the car for a good 5-6 secs before be blasted me. I don't know if that mans anything, but I'm delighted that my car is running fantasticly.

Great, since Jeff now has access to a turbo car with the Ignition Solution this is a perfect opportunity for him to look at the new AP tables available and modify the dwell tables. A lot of guys could benefit from this!
Jason, ask him where to forward the link.

We NorCal people should take advantage of this god given chance to have Charles and Jeff to tune, I for one would throw down on getting these guys up here some weekend. anyone else?

Scott, unfortunately the mazsport coils weren't installed at the time. This was a spur of the moment thing and we only had a few hours to mess with the car before he had to drive all the way back to Miami for his flight out.

What we are trying to do is organize these events into dyno AND install meets where I do the dirty/grunt work and Jeff does the brainy stuff. This way, we can address any issues that need to be handled either before or after the dyno pulls(depending on how it all turns out) and it'll all get handled in one day. Plus, if you get BHR stuff and want it installed, I offer labor discounts for that day.
The idea is that if we get a bunch of cars lined up everybody has fun for a fair price and Jeff and I don't go broke anymore when we do these meets.

Tailgaters beware
Earlier I posted a reply to Cheeto and I made a correction to it because I don't want a laymen like me to not understand this and set their STFT incorrectly.
**********The wording above his graph of +/- % is what you go by.***************
***********I used the chart he made at first and the STFT was worse after every change.*********
***********The a's are the -'s *****************
***********and the b's are the +'s
***********use 1_5a to -10%*****************
The above was incorrect, Jeff(MM) explained it to me.
Your car is adding +6 fuel so you go ahead and add the fuel by doing a +6 which is the 1_3a which does say adds +6, then the car will no longer need to add it and it will be at 0. So it is written correctly, I think some of us just didn't really understand how it worked.
wait a minute, jeff sent me this :If the STFT is a negative value (check only at IDLE), you will use one of
the files that end in "b". If it is a positive value, you will use a file
that ends in "a".
so now i am a little confused. i thought it my LTFT was +10, then i would use a "b" cause then it would subtract that 10 and bring it down to 0. am i wrong?

But I think I'm starting to get it.
I'm running MM 1b_3a my LTFT was 1%
I flashed to 1b_2a and went out for a short drive (5 minutes I believe this is long enuf would someone confirm ty) and my LTFT is now 4
Doing the math from 1b_3a is +6 and 1b_2a is +4 so a shift from 1% to 4% in the LTFT seems about right, yes?
Now my other problem: (WOT)
- under 4500 rpm my AFR's on average are to high 13.8 - 14.1
- Over 4500 my AFR's on average are 11.1-11.3 (on the 1b_3a map) and 11.5 -11.9 (on the 1b_2a map)
MM mentioned in passing to me that he is working on a 1c_Xx version, I hope these maps will resolve my lean/rich issues. MM?
I've posted here with great trepidation, I hope my information is reasonably correct. I've been living vicariously through Cheeto as he's been asking many of the same things I've been wondering.
<all power to the flame suite shields captain>
Do you think there is a need for a Cobb FAQ for Noobs? I would be more than willing to collect the information and post it.
