I was just sitting here, following reading the last 70 or so posts, trying to conceive the enormity of the task that Jeff does. X number of customers, with >1 separate tunes, on diversely different modified vehicles (modified by folks that may or may not know what they did), in various states of mechanical disarray.
I visit tuner shops on occasion; they are tuning 2-3 cars at a time for a week or more and they are working hands on. Other e-tuners, like Buschur (sp?) simply ask, "what is on your car" and send what they think should apply to the car.
I dont know of another service like this. It may exist, but if it doesn't, this is a paradigm shift in terms of tuning. I never really considered the scale.
Unfortunately, and this is no dig on anyone, the quality of the results still depends on the end user. I wonder if this is a true fatal flaw.
just my observations

I don't think its necessarily fatal (provided nothing breaks along the way which, so far, doesn't appear to have happened).
The system is setup in such a way that when a customer's setup is FUBAR, the issue becomes apparent almost immediately and the actual solution can very often be diagnosed by what I see in the logs.
Now, gaining the trust (or simply obedience) of the customer can be a real challenge.
I am often surprised by the sheer creativity of some people in trashing the process and stepping completely outside the requirements for a successful outcome.
However, what is more surprising to me are those that fulfill the process with their fingers crossed behind their backs - undermining themselves along the way by intentionally subverting the process.
You can't hide from the data. I see everything.

Hey Jeff,
I tried running 4.0.3 again and Im still in the 15s as far as afrs. I switched back to 4.0.2 and the afrs go between 12.1 and 12.5. I thought you had said you didnt make any fuel changes between the 2 tunes, Im just telling you what Im seeing. Please tell me I moved my injectors to the right place, they are the 2 middle injectors on the branch of 4. Can you just add fuel to the 4.0.3 map? We are going on a car cruise this weekend and would like to not be worried about this. Its almost like its not triggering open loop when I just hit the gas. If I roll into it slowly, itll drop into the 11s, but if I just hit it from say 4000rpm, that when it runs lean. Thanks man.

Really, if you make major changes, you should start all over again.
It not so simple to "just add fuel". It doesn't work like that.
If it were that easy, you would just do it yourself.
I work with logs and on the premise that your setup doesn't change in the middle.
I'll do what I can, but radical changes like that in the wrong direction usually mean you screwed something else up.

Question . I have a different serial number AP now and it says my calibration is locked to the other serial number I had. Is this something Jeff must fix or is there something I can do myself to unlock for the newer AP serial number?
Thanks
Thanks

Did that, erased it off the AP ,the manager software and off my desktop first,,hit f5 and downloaded it again to desktop..put it on the AP, plug into car and still says locked to other serial number. Does it matter which browser I'm using or is there something else that can keep it from refreshing correctly?
