Half of the process is done and the figures are excellent. I will report on the remaining as soon as I can and then publicly reveal pricing.

Paul.

Sounds fantastic to me, Paul :D: . If there's anything else I can do to help out with the process, please let me know. Hopefully the other members who posted on this thread will confirm their interest, without need for a PM to check. I know I'm excited at the chance to finally begin adding the R3 aero to my car!

Chibana 08-02-2012 03:19 PM

I was another Sparkling Black Mica.

jrx13 08-06-2012 09:11 PM

I'd want a front bumper in crystal white pearl shipped to 94122, depending on final price.

Chibana 08-07-2012 04:30 PM

I'm feeling guilty about responding to this thread. I'm very interested, but I don't see how I can justify the cost considering my wife needs a new vehicle to replace our 2005 Honda Odyssey with 260,000 miles on it. She'd kill me if I spent $1,000+ on cosmetics for my RX-8. Still, I want to see the price, I suppose.

Same here, 94044.

KWheelr 08-09-2012 12:48 PM

Been looking for r3 bumper for a while now. Sparkling black shipped to 01930, depending on price of course.

aprtur 08-09-2012 10:13 PM

Figured I'd check in....what's the latest, Paul?

Mazmart 08-10-2012 11:10 AM

Update

I am working with two different suppliers and I have prices from one already. The other may take a little longer and this relates to the skirts and rear spoiler as well as the installation kit. The price on the bumpers so far is very good. Bear with me just a little while longer.

HUH, who is wanting a Rear Spoiler or Skirts here in this thread?..

I thought this was for R3 Front Bumper "Kit" only?;)

ASH8 08-10-2012 03:39 PM

Guilty, ASH :D: . No rear spoiler for me...I personally like my Sport/Touring/GT lip spoiler far better than the big hoop spoiler. However, I love the side skirts, and had posted in that other thread. Along with the bumper and side skirts, I'll be buying some RPF1s with meaty tires, so I think it completes the aggressive look, and flows with the front bumper; a lá:

Not to mention...it helps hide the small bend in my rocker panel where the previous owner had some imbecile put it on a lift slightly wrong  .

As for the rear spoiler...I'm sure there are people out there, somewhere, that like it. Or, possibly, they're just looking to create an R3 in a color that wasn't available in their home market (i.e. Crystal White Pearl or Sparkling Black Mica here in the US). I'm sure Paul could get some decent business out of obtaining a few.

Sounds like things have gone very smoothly with wonderful results, Paul. That's fantastic news :]. I certainly don't mind holding tight while you do everything you need to do...I consider what you're doing a huge privilege, and am grateful for all the legwork you're doing. Thanks so much, yet again...I'll look forward to what you come up with!

mikeinquincy 08-11-2012 03:44 PM

I'd be interested as well. Crystal white pearl shipped to 05495
thanks.

Chibana 08-13-2012 11:30 AM

I also like the lip spoiler on my GT far better than the wing-like one on the R3. I'm interested in the side skirts just because I wonder if the lower R3 front bumper cover will look out-of-place without some side skirt to bring the sides of the car a bit lower to match the front. I've been also considering getting the R3 front and the Racing Beat side skirts, but I'm not sure how well they would match (and if they would fit the Series II, but I would think they should). Of course, this is probably all a pipe dream, since I don't see how my wife will possibly allow me to spend on this money right now.

aprtur 08-16-2012 02:31 AM

I got an e-mail that the sideskirts thread was bumped up, and figured I'd check in here, too....any luck with the secondary supplier, Paul? I'm sure you're still working this to benefit all of us, so I don't mean to be pushy in any way whatsoever...just figured I would pop in for an update :].

Mazmart 08-18-2012 06:55 PM

Finally: First price

Okay. The covers in your painted colors (By Mazda) are $400 prior to shipping. Note: This price is already landed and cleared at my warehouse from Japan and only face shipping costs in the USA to be added. This is still without the mounting kit that I am working on.

Warning: When I have full prices (Still lower than anywhere else), I will require prepayment and the parts will take up to 6 months from Japan to me.

Paul.

aprtur 08-19-2012 11:24 PM

Wow....based on that initial bit of pricing information, this is sounding incredibly reasonable, Paul. Fantastic news, for sure! Just to be clear, this is with all of the lower aero/splitter parts as well, correct? I'll be looking forward to when you get the remainder of the info together, as I think it will be close to what I'm estimating.
One concern, however...why is it that the parts would possibly take 6 months? Is this a limitation with obtaining parts, or purely due to the shipping process you've worked out? This is not a problematic thing, just more of a curiosity on my part.

Thanks yet again,
-Brendan

Hi Brendan,

The lower splitter (Air dam skirts) are the main components of what Mazda calls the fitting kit. This is the other item I am working on. Mazda sells it as a kit only domestically otherwise the parts add up to over $800 retail in the US (3 Air dam pieces, brackets, a new emblem and hardware). My competitor is selling everything together for about $820 before $1000 shipping. I hope I come in better than $1000 in the US and maybe even shipped. We will see.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Thanks so much for the explanation and the update. I wasn't aware that the "fitting kit" referred to the lower splitters in addition to the hardware...that helps me to better understand how everything is packaged and whatnot. I greatly appreciate how hard you're fighting for us to get the total cost under $1000...it proves even further how much you appreciate the owners (and therefore your customers), not to mention your apparently massive goodwill. I'll be keeping my eyes glued to the Mazmart section of the forum to see what you come up with...it would be a pleasure to give you my business, as opposed to a dealer that doesn't care nearly as much about RX owners. I'd also love to throw out the Mazmart name every time I get asked about the R3 aero that would then be on my car....the hard work you're doing deserves that sign of appreciation, at the very least.

Thank you again, Paul, and I look forward to what will come as things progress.

It's funny. I saw no response yesterday and almost threw in the towel on this project. I will forge ahead due to your encouragement sir.

Paul.

Glad to hear I responded at just the right moment :]! I really do appreciate everything you're doing, Paul...I know it's not easy, and takes quite a bit of time to go through all the available channels to negotiate the best price. I figured with asking you about this from the beginning that I could not only benefit from your experience with Mazda parts/suppliers, but also feed some money to Mazmart rather than the local stealership, and help spread the Mazmart name by mentioning it whenever my car is at a local car event. Keep me informed...it'll be exciting to see what you come up with, as I've been looking forward to creating a mean R3 aero'd SII with your help :].

Hey Paul,

Thought I'd chime in since I made a purchase for the 8 this weekend, and remembered you said you were working on this at last contact. What's the latest news?

aprtur 09-08-2012 09:15 AM

What's the latest, Paul?? Has this just fallen by the wayside :/?
