Group Buy!

Great news! Have you wanted the ability to unleash more power from your RX-8 but realized the E.C.U. was holding you back? We have decided to offer the Interceptor-X E.M.S. as a complete package that includes the tuning software, interface and required installation hardware for $1599.

We have been asked many times to offer a group buy for the RX8club so here it is. For a limited time the next 10 systems sold to RX-8 club members will be reduced to $1499!

The components required to produce this system make it difficult to maintain this price so if you have been waiting for a deal, this is your chance to get an excellent product at a great price! Please visit www.mazsport.net for more information. You can also call 1-800-538-9989 directly and someone will be happy to help!
Thanks for your continued support!

It depends on the tuner, car condition and mod list. Check the N/A thread for my results with Swoops car. Scott

I will start shipping next week, I already have several already sold at full retail to ship, but the wait will be short. The development work is done, building the unit installing a map, testing then shipping. Scott

it depends on the tuner b/c Swoop's NA map may not get you exactly the same results he got, it needs to be fine tuned by a tuner with a dyno.

Scott may create a base map that is slightly richer for safety reasons that still gives some good gains, but if you want the last 3-5whp, you'll need to fine tune it on your own.

its not possible to have one mapr for everyone due to climate, altitude etc....

yes exactly 8hp... AT PEAK!

The peak is not only sooner with the interceptor, but there are larger delta's at places in the graph other than the peak. Some places as high as 20hp. It's all about area under the curve.

Us dollars. One other note, at this time we are only selling this unit to U.S. and Canada model owners. Sorry for any inconvience, Scott

Just had to add my impartial observations ... that the Interceptor really works! This isn't another Canzoomer debacle, the Interceptor is the real deal. You Greddy turbo owners NEED this, ebay your emanage and start making some real power.

The Interceptor-X E.M.S. faceplate

Here is a detailed image of the Interceptor-X faceplate showing the user definable auxillary inputs and outputs, data connections and MAP sensor port. These will allow the creative user the ability to control auxillary devices and activate multiple extra built in features.

Here's testimony from someone who's been running the Interceptor-X:

https://www.rx8club.com/mazsport-104/interceptor-x-review-w-dyno-pics-77450/

If you have a Greddy Turbo kit, you NEED this. If you're planning on getting a Greddy Turbo kit, PLAN on getting the Interceptor-X. You'll thank me later

No one is interested at that price point... it's quite simple...

Scott, I want you to read this post, and then do your own math...

https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...5&postcount=29

Sorry if I sound like I'm being a jerk here, I'm trying to get a few vendors to understand how they can make more money, as well as make more sales... win/win situation.

You Have to know your margins and costs of course.

Thanks

Hskr8

I think < $1,000 is the right price point.

the idea is, no one is knocking the product in any way, but in order to corner the market, group buys are important and essentially win win situations... he can sit back and collect $800 plus profit from the 25 people he will sell to at that price this year... or he could make a hell of allot more by selling it at say a $150 profit X 200+ people....

Let me ask you this... if he offered a group by for 999.99... how many people do you think would be all over it?

I'd say at that kind of discount, he's in the mid to high 40's as far as interest goes... he has to do the math though to figure out what makes it viable to do... which is what a group buy is all about.

Does Scott want to become the Defacto standard? I dunno... I'm sure it was a ton of work, and his website shows you how professional it's all done with videos and all.

I don't doubt the product at all, I'm just looking for a win/win with the community and vendor.

Thanks for the feedback, I own a business so I understand exactly the point you are trying to make. For this product, the reality is I have put alot of "cost per unit" investment into the product because I am using high quality tried and true components. I can only drop the price to a certain point, If I eliminate the entire margin I cannot afford to build high quality products for this small niche market. (you know ones that work) So, $1499 for the plug and play computer, software and interface that allows the user to have complete engine control is not out of line. A power F.C and commander for a 93 rx7 is still $1,200 and if you want the good interface/software with a data logger your in another $250. I have spent the time and resources to build a product for a new $30,000 sports car that works! I mean really works, read the reviews, I dont think it's out of line. Please keep in mind that this is a standalone E.M.S. talored for the RX-8 in a plug and play package. Over the years I have witnessed many budget builds of products and vehicles for that matter, well poke your nose around and this forum and it's pretty obvious you get what you pay for. I am not into the RX-8 product market to build cheap products rather better products. My target market is customers that would rather buy somthing once, install it and go have some fun not park their car because a solder joint came loose. Hskr8 I dont mean to lash out at you, please dont take it as such, your point is crystal clear and for some of the products on the market your point may be very valid. BTW the group buy is working, already sold 3 of the 10 units at $1499 thanks,Scott

That price would pretty much force me in!

Hi there, just some comments: Well as a FD'er the A'PEXi Power FC is commonly available right now for ~$1020 (rotaryextreme - where i got mine, rx7store, etc.), i received it for ~$900 about 4 years ago from. A lot of RX-7 club members have purchased from http://www.jappartsspecialist.com/main.htm which currently lists it for ~$795 ($750+45 shipping).
Nonetheless I am glad you are producing some quality products for the RX-8! I'll be in line when/if pricing reaches the sub $1000 level.

Thanks!
Edgardo
