sh*t, i know i'd wait for a "finished product". hell, we've waited this long, right? no sense in rushing it out the door just to appease inpatience. can the other funtionality issues be accomplished by software updates or is it a hardware thing? software - no problem. if it's a hardware thing, i'd rather wait until Scott knocks all the bugs out. but hey, that's just me... and i've already knocked back 4 shots o' cabo wabo and 4 beers at this stage... heh heh...

that's what i'm sayin' - just chill, knock back some cabo, some tasty suds, and you'll forget you even ordered the X... heh heh! seriously, i'm not in such a hurry where a race or show depended on the unit, so when Scott's satisfied with the finished product - i'm satisfied.

Geez, you guys have perfected the art of patience, me on the other hand, I'd prefer to receive the units and Scott can send me whatever parts are needed to do the updates and a set of instructions and I'd be happy to do them

a friend asked me when i was drunk the other night if I got my interceptor yet, and i got all excited because i forgot it was even coming!

I dont know about your sanctioning body (I've gone anti-SCCA for awhile lol), but air/fuel controllers definately bump me into one of the god classes. I'd jump from C Stock to B Race! Then again, an aftermarket turbo puts me in A Race too. I'm interested to see how these turbo 8's do in an autox, I'm sure the results will be intereting nonetheless.

Latest news hot off the press...
Scott has seven units assembled and ready to go. Unfortunately when he went to the dyno yesterday they were not able to register anything above 7200 RPM. Although the car seemed fine going up to 9200 he doesn't want to release the unit until he is positive it is working correctly. That won't happen until they can get some good dyno runs. (They tried all the standard diagnostic/reboot procedures but weren't able to fix it after five runs.)
He is going to SevenStock tomorrow and will return to his shop on Tuesday. At that time he hopes to get some good dyno data and intends to ship out all existing orders that week. He debated sending the units out as-is right now but I pointed out to him SevenStock means he won't be around to answer questions.
For those ordering the turbo upgrade he is still tinkering with the design to get more horsepower. He's made some good gains but wants to give customers more bang for buck. They may be able to dyno some modifications next week as well but I don't have specifics.

Just got off the phone with Scott myself. PUR NRG's got it right on. I also relayed my support for Scott's commitment to providing a top-quality, finished product to customers. We both agree that it's the best way to do business now and in the long run.
Alot of folks feel that Greddy rushed the turbo kit into production without completely working out all the bugs and gremlins. Everyone of us who have it, know all too well of the issues. Just do a search for Greddy bashing on here.... To his credit, Scott is not allowing that to happen with the Interceptor-X. Trust me, he feels the heat. Everyone, including yours truly, can't wait to get the thing! But Scott's not letting that interfere with what he knows is right. You're going to receive a performance product that lives up to its hype - and more. For that, I can't fault the man a bit.

Well, I just put in my order for mine! I went a head and listed the mods that I have now, bu the real reason I ordered it now is because I have moved from the planning stage to the development stage of my turbo upgrade. Just to give you guys a sneak peek: Innovative T-61 Dual Ball Bearing turbo & 750cc RC injectors to replace P2s and secondaries just to name a few things, there is much more. The rest of the details along with the final product will be posted when I get it finished and tuned, which should hopefully, depending on when I get the Interceptor( no rush), be by the end of the month. I just don't want to be one of those guys who starts a thread and then takes for every to actually have a final product or never get a final product. But this weekend I started the first of the fabrication so no my project is under way!

It seems like this company must make some good products. There is another forum member who is having one made for him, but it sounds like it is a smaller unit, that will fit in the location of the GReddy turbo.

Can't wait to hear some numbers for the both of you. Wonder who will finish first?

Yeeh, they are the best, especially when it comes to Ball bearing turbos. Plus they do alot of custom work, this one was custom made to mimic the Turbonetics T-61 turbo, becuae I wanted dual ball bearing but Turbonetics only makes single so I had Innovative make this one.

All right, so who's turn is it to call Scott for an update this week? Last time I talked to him, he seemed pretty certain they'd be shipping out early this week, but I haven't got the call yet.

I got an email from him (in response to mine) and he said it should be any day now. My guess is another week, we'll see soon enough. Maybe he'll surprise us, and they will ship by friday.

wtf should we have to be the agressors here? They should be on these boards informing everyone of their progress. When was the last time any of them have posted? That irks me.

I wasn't trying to start anything here (=0P. I know we have all been waiting for months now, but lets try to give Scott a break. On top of the units, he is working on the turbo upgrade, plus has a business to run. Its a little hard to be patient since it was supposed to be out two months ago, but thats just how it goes sometimes.

I don't plan on getting anywhere near pushing this turbo to the limits because it can produce some serious power, it is rated to produce 900hp realisticly. I am not ready to replace the tranny, driveshaft, or rearend quite yet so I plan on staying below 600hp and hope that the factory units will suffice for know. Here's a couple pictures of it mounted on my 13B T motor for my RX-7. It's no little thing, I think it could swallow the Greddy turbo.
