Well years of contemplating a rotary style motor car. I just bought a 2005 RX-8 Shinka edition. 6 m/t with 77,158 miles. Third owner started to pull motor apart and quit before he got the main assembly out.
it needs new window motors, done now, found door bass speakers not working. Started to pull amp in door out and it started working. Hmmm. I removed the amp. Pulled all the metal covers off and hooked back up. Not working. I squeezed the grey relay and it worked. Let go it quit. So off to the bench. Pulled grey cover off relay and all the solder contacts looked corroded. Touched all the joints on the relay and board with my solder tip. Hooked up and has worked ever since. Did both door amps. Now to conquer the Bose display flicker. One spot on radio I can press and it works fine. So next will be to pull radio and disassemble it and look for connection issues.
