John Wayne is by far my favorite airport. I know the in's and out's of that entire place. It's also located right next to two major freeways that can pretty much get you to where you need to be.

Do not stay at the double tree hotel on harbor and orangewood. That place was built in a weeks time - i kid you not - the build construction is faulty and wouldn't doubt that the rooms are probably just as shotty. I really liked the Days Inn Express on Memory Lane and The City Drive in the city of Orange. It's a couple of miles away from the convention center but it's near a major outdoor mall that has some things to do (ie restaurants, Dn'B, shopping etc.) There are a couple of other good ones too but i can't remember off hand. I'll probably see em' when i go home today.
