MRR was GREAT!!!
Went to MRR Sat and Sun this year. What a great time! For those of you in the Milwaukee, Chicago, or any nearby area that thought about going but didn't, you definately need to put in on your schedule for next year. Great cars, great people, great weather - what more could you ask for?!!!
I had so much fun doing the "Drive the Track" event last year, that I did it both Sat and Sun this year. This first pic is my '8 in line in the staging area.
There were more Vettes and Porsches than you could shake a stick at. A couple Lotuses, a Ford GT, and then there was this other little red car.
What is that, a kit car of some kind? Is that one of those VW Bug chassis that they put a nice plastic body on?
Anyway, part way thru the session I was blasting down the front straight and as I was nearing turn 1, I looked in my rearview, and there was that red car filling my mirrors. I held him off thru turns 1, 2, and 3, and then came onto the next straight. Since I was feeling lazy and didn't want to embarrass him anymore, I waved him by. He waved back, but it seemed his hand was probably cramping up from gripping the steering wheel so hard trying to keep that kit car on the road, since he could only get one finger up to wave thank you. Wasn't that nice of him?
Anyway, the '8 is just fantastic on the track even for a total novice like me. You've got to try this!!!
The rest of the pics are at the RX Corral where all of the RX's congregate - RX-7 Gen 1,2,3 and RX-8s. What a great time to talk "Rotary" things.
What a lineup!
BTW, in the concours judging, I won "Best RX-8 of Show" Now that REALLY made my day!!
Come join us next year!
Zoom, Zoom!

Now there is even more reason to attend MRR next year. Champ Car has posted their 2007 schedule and they will be at Road America the same weekend as ALMS. That is going to be one fantastic racing weekend!
Make your plans early!!

Hey John,
I have your photo's up now too. My car looks so dirty in the one, probably because after 4 days at the track it was.
I'm glad you got some shots of the F40, cause I didn't get a chance to take any of it.
