MRR Hotels - 2004
Hi,
Last year a lot of us stayed at the Maritime Inn in Manitowoc, WI:
http://www.innonmaritimebay.com/
It was nice, but they wouldn't do much in the way of a group discount since the races at Road America that we will be watching draw a big crowd, so the hotels do not have much trouble selling rooms. I would recommend them again - nice place, decent price, friendly folks.
The track is in Elkhart Lake, but you could also check Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Fond du Lac as they are reasonably close.
Here is a link to some info on Elkhart Lake hotels:

Stay away from the AmericInn - they took deposits from 3 groups of people and then would not honor the reservations when we showed up - we had to spend an hour calling around to find another hotel. At midnight.
The rest of the hotels in the area have all been fine. It is nice to stay in Elkhart Lake as there are usually a lot of awesome cars parked on the streets, but the hotels there tend to be a little more expensive.
Book now - the hotels in Elkhart Lake fill up quickly.
Post here once you know where you will be staying, and we can set up caravans to the track and to Holiday for the Tech Sessions.
Cheers,
Steve

It looks like the best chance for finding lodging if you don't already have a place is in Fond du Lac Wisconsin. It's about 30 miles from Road America on Highway 23 and 151. This is what I found available so far.
Best Value Inn; $50-65/ night
Super 8: $75-85
Econo Lodge $85.50-95/night Has an indoor pool too.
I'm staying at the Best Value Inn.
