I don't have an 8 yet either, but i'm still a member of the club, so don't be shy! come to the meet on the 1st. should be fun! hope to see ya there! Driving a '98 GS-R at the moment. And no, I am no Doc, but I like the title :) |
Well, welcome. Guess you can't offer up your services... :D
So, would you like to become a member of the Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club? If so... you're IN... and there is no requirement to own an '8, just be thinking about it or just generally like them, and provide us with your name, email address, and phone number so we can keep in touch with you about club events. Please PM me the info. So do you think you can join us for our mini-meet 2/1/04? |
Hey were any of you driving a titanium grey 8 up on 6th and simms/union on friday?
Chirrack 6MT, Sunlight Silver, Massive Smile |
Welcome (again) Chirrack, great to have you here!
I did get your contact info, and have added you to the Club's roster. Do you think you're going to be able to join us for the mini-meet in Longmont on 2/1/04? Be great to see you there - especially since you're car is NOT titanium... I think all 3 or 4 '8s that are coming thus far are Ti. :) As for last Friday at 6th/Simms-Union, twasn't me. If you find yourself up Longmont way and see a Ti '8, chances are it IS me though, as I think I've got the only '8 in town. How cool is that? :D |
I will be able to attend the mini-meet, don't know yet if I will have a ride-along.
|
Man, we are gonna have a party at Sonic! hehe. Hopefully the weather isn't like today......
Also, along the lines of seeing peoples cars, I see a silver 8 out by 48th and Tower every so often. I don't think they live out here though cause i've only seen it like 3 times....would think i would see it more if they lived out here. That any of y'all? I also see another 8 driving on Airport Blvd too. Maybe we should all post the areas of where we are (at least those of you with 8s...:) ) if you can't tell...I'm out by the Airport... See ya all on the 1st! serff |
Too cool! So now we're up to 6 attendees (below), and one "maybe," PetersonPeleRx8.

Hey guys, don't know if you saw, but the Mazda Rev It Up tour is starting again and they AREN'T coming to colorado! SO that sucks. I sent an email to them asking why not, so we'll see what they say. But maybe we need to send an offical letter from the Rocky Mountain RX8 club maybe backed by a dealership to get them to think about it. Any way, here is the link to the contacts:
http://www.mazdarevitup.com/f_contactus.asp P.S. I haven't had time to reply to the email yet...i'll get to it as soon as i can. |
Count me in fellas =)
I'll probably make it for next sunday. BTW, I saw a black RX8 at the Shamrock gas station on Quincy & Chambers on Thusdays or Wednesday last week I think... Could it be Burger? Only RX8 owner that seems to live in Aurora... |
Great! See you then!

Too cool... so now we're up to 9 attendees (below), and one "maybe," PetersonPeleRx8.

In Fort Collins
Hey all!
Haven't been on the Mountain Forum for some time. Picked up my black RX-8 From Spradley Barr Autoplex in Fort Collins back in mid July. Dealership said I was the first in Colorado to take delivery. I'd like to see about joining the club. Won't be able to meet on Sunday, but interested in future events. |
rotordog - I sent you a private message!
|
Hey guys, might drop buy before i fly home to Atlanta. I am in town this weekend skiing, and would love to meet some forum members from my old college state. Getting excited thinking about it.
|
Nice man, where did you go to school? I graduated from CU Boulder in '01.

ok... so where and when are we exactly meeting?
I am aware it will at the Sonic fast food restaurant in Longmont... but I've no clue where it's located. Anyone has a full address I can run in mapquest? Also, is there anyone living in Aurora? We can meet at intersection and make the trip to Longmont together. Well... we'll see how the weather goes... |
2339 NORTH MAIN STREET LONGMONT, CO 80501. Google search.:)
Driving Directions from the Aurora Mall, Sable & Alameda. Maybe we'll see you tomorrow? :) |
Sonic is located on the SW corner of Hwy 287 and Hwy 66. Take I25 to the Longmont/Lyons/Hwy 66 exit (North side of Longmont) and head West toward the mountains. About 3-4 miles along Hwy 66 you'll come to a stoplight for Hwy 287. Turn left (South) and Sonic will be almost immediately on your right.
Snow is falling now, and although it wasn't sticking before, it now looks like it's going to. :( If it does, we'll have to postpone the meet a week or so. Keep your fingers crossed! |
Ya, it is snowing down here too now. It isn't too bad, but I hear it is a lot worse up north. So i guess it isn't lookin too good for tomorrow...but it is Colorado! It could be 70 degrees tomorrow and all the snow will be gone by 2!
I'm in Denver, but on the outskits of Aurora. I'm up on 48th and tower basically. About 15 minutes from A-Town mall. Where are you at? serff |
Well, pray for a very very warm day and clear road :D

Hey folks, good morning.
So, ah, go or no go on the meet? Is there an official decision? |

Anyone who is interested, we'll see you there! I posted driving directions on the last page from Aurora, in cluding a link to mapquest.
See you all in Longmont! -Doc |

Very cool, another Colorado owner... welcome! Where did you buy your car, and what color/option package is it?
And even more importantly, have you been to our Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club website yet? :D Nice to see ya here. |
Another new RX-9 owner in Colorado! I just bought my RX-8 last Friday.

I live next to Stanley Lake (near the old Rocky Flats Plutonium Processing Plant) and JeffCo Airport. Let's just say, the trace plutonium in the water really makes my car "glow"! ;-)

another Colorado RX-8 owner here
I bought my RX-8 in early May. It's Titanium Grey, all black leather, 6 speed manual, grand touring package, nav system, all the available upgrades (no spare tire kit or spoiler). She's an absolute dream! I live in Littleton and bought her at McDonald. As a side note - the rim around my moon roof has some cracks - have any of you experienced the same? LMK, and great to know there's so many other locals who have this wonderful vehicle!
John |
I haven't noticed any cracks around my moon roof. Do you mean the actual trim ring around the moon roof is cracked? Does the moon roof leak?
|
moon roof rim cracking
yes, the rubber exterior rim around the roof has some cracks in it. About four small tears all the way around. I'm not too worried about it, it should be covered under warranty work. :) The roof does not leak fortunately.
|
Hmmm . . . I wonder if I should start putting something on that strip to preserve the rubber.

Wow, that's an old post. :)
Welcome to the Mountain forum jessCO, and to soon being an RX-8 owner. It's a wonderful car with a real following. You're gonna love it! :D Be sure to come by and get yourself signed up over at The Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club too. |
Hey guys. Hope you don't mind me posting here. I signed up a few months back when I was doing some research on the RX8. I've actually been lurking on the board here for awhile, but signed up just for fun.
Anyway, I own a '93 RX7 R1. I'm going to be moving to Colorado probably in the spring of '05. Somewhere near Denver. I've been looking at the NW side of Denver (Longmont, Boulder), and the Fort Collins/Loveland area as well. I've been on your sister site www.rx7club.com for years now, but recently while looking for a local (to Colorado/Denver) Rotary Car club, I've been having trouble locating one. I see that you guys have an RX8 club, but didn't know if you knew of a generic Rotary club local to you. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks. I can't wait to move out there (been a life long dream of mine). Also, if anyone has any tips on where exactly to live (Longmont is at the top of my list at the present time), feel free to PM me. :) Thanks again. |
Hey zmarko,
You should deffinately come check out the Rocky Mountain RX8 club website. There is info there about our meet. As for a local RX7/general Rotary club, there used to be an RX7 club in Denver, but they seem to have died off. We threw around the idea of making the Rocky Mountain RX8 club a general rotary club, however, we already have a lot of members and for our first year, we didn't want to over burden ourselfs. In any case, you are always welcome to come to any of the meets/get togethers, etc. Please come sign up at our website and join in the discussions there as well. http://rockymountainrx8.com serff |
