I own a silver 2009 sport model. What is your 8? I live on the SE part of town. Maybe I've seen it. Don't see too many of them up north here... |

We're here all the time, so feel free to even just post whenever you see an RX-8 out on the streets. BC. |
To the dbag in the blacked out S1 with the 12 year old passenger that was driving around the East side of the Springs a couple minutes... LEARN HOW TO DRIVE! 35 in a 45 in 6th gear while hugging the steering wheel doesn't make you cool. And having your passenger flip off other cars because you forgot to signal doesn't improve your cred.

The state needs to make tests harder and require all new drivers take a driving course that they need to pass with at least a B. |
I just so wished I had my car at the time.
|
Why is it that every teen ager with mom's Toyota wants to race me?. I was out yesterday/Saturday on Federal blvd on the way to the free way to try out a adjustment of my air scoop on the lower front end. My 8 is a 2004 velocity red automatic 4 speed.
By the way the freeway test was very noticeable , more get up and go at speeds above 55mph in 4th gear. Cool: Today I spent staring at the throttle body trying to come up with a hose configuration that would hide the fact I have disconnected the throttle body coolant and rerouted it. Think I have it figured out to make it appear hooked up a glance. |
I always get beater cars and cosmetic cars with big ol 22+ wheels trying to race me.:yelrotflm
Weather is getting nice, lets plan a meet somwhere someday? |
Maybe we should start beating the drum for a June meeting. Take a poll as to where most of us live and where a central place to meet would be?. I'm up for it:).
|
May is out for me...but some time in June works
|
Im moving out of state june 1st:tear:
|
Tere are some who would want to eat the engine as described. :). he he.
|
@Sydeffect: When you move , are you driving your 8 or trailer. In any case good luck where ever you are going and to be sure there will be 8 owners:).
|
Hi!
|
What's the scoop? Any meets before winter fully sets in?
|
I might be selling my S1 8 soon and was wondering if anyone would have interest in some of the non-stock parts. The largest parts are my main concern at the moment. Agency Power Catback, Racing Beat Midpipe and Axis wheels (wheels will require a trade + $$) are going to be the ones I'm most concerned about.
|
Anyone possibly interested in purchasing a second RX8 for racing, or have a friend that wants their first? I am looking to sell my RX8 and pick up something a little more suited for the snow. The RX8 is great for autocross and track folks and has a lot of mods to support this quest. It also has some nice upgrades that makes it a great non-snow day to day driver. Asking $10K, but I'm open to offers.
2007 Mazda RX-8 Touring Galaxy Grey 51K miles, no winters All replaced OEM Parts available Spare exhaust finishers Spare exhaust shrouds Two extra unmounted tires Full service records available 35% Tinted Windows Agency Power CatBack Exhaust Axis 18" Wheels Axxess iPod Integration Cobb AccessPort Escort 8500x50 built-in Mazda Clear Corners Mazda Fender strakes Mazda Splash Guards Mazda Rear Spoiler Mazda Rotary Accent Parrot Bluetooth Racing Beat High Flow Cat Racing Beat Grill screens Summer and Winter floor mats Voodoo Shift Knob https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...31286087_n.jpg |
You open to a trade for the corners? I have the rotaryfx clear w/ black housing and want the jdm ones like yours.
|
I'm 99% sure I have amber corners in the garage somewhere. Let me confirm and then I'll find a price for ya.
|
How does $35 sound?
|
Ok...I sold the 8 last night. So now I have some extra parts for locals.
Agency Power exhaust - Used 20K miles - $350 Racing Beat midpipe - Used 20K miles - $150 AccessPort - Used - $350 VooDoo Shift Knob - Used - $30 Chrome Exhaust Finishers - New - $150 Issac I still have the clear corners for you. Just let me know how you want to stop down or if you want me to ship them. Update: I also found some OEM Coils and wires with 20K miles on them, and some OEM pads with like 5K miles on them. Send me a PM with an offer on those. |

Nope.I bought mine in 2008.It's the dredded series one four port automatic, but i enjoy it. I got 96 thousand miles plus.Bone stock except the intake.I made that my self.I pre mix 200 to one approx.I use synthetic oil since day one. |
Hey everyone. New to the area(Colorado springs) and new to the rx8. Hoping to eventually meet up with some people to hang out or just cruise or go to events.
|
Need a shop
Anyone know of any good tuning shops for rotaries?
|
James' Automotive Services
Give them a call and check it out, it's in Longmont |
Thanks clad. I'll definitely have to go and check them out.
|
Hey NoCo, new to these parts - seen a few RX-8 around Fort Collins, but sports cars are few and far between, and nearby tracks practically non-existent. Any meetups going on?
|
I see alot of 8's around, but there are not really any meets that I have seen or heard of.
|
Colorado seems dead about the rx8. I have a 2004 8. I guess being they aren't made any more since 2011 and the bad rap the rx8 got by poor marketing, coupled with Ford motor company making the rx8 sacrifice lubricity for emmissions well, there you go. Colorado is dead about the rx8:).:icon5::yelrotflm
|
Well, it is not dead, I see them all the time. Just not a community for them here. Plus, it is almost winter, so most will be parked (like mine) for the winter. Maybe next spring we can get a few ppl on here, and the ones we see around, to meet up for a nice mountain drive.

There is a Mazda club, but there isn't much activity there. Hope to catch up with you sometime at an event, Mark |

So, since summer is almost upon us and my 8 is almost ready for it, is anyone planning a cruise or anything?

Just back in to my 8 and cruising
Let go of my 2004 RX8 in 2006 and missed it for 10 years. Just scored at 2010 RX8 Grand Tourning and I'm filled with nostalgia. I never see any down here in Ken Caryl either.

And they are getting fewer and farther between as time goes on. I now have 103,000 miles on my 04 automatic.

Got to ask what happened to your engine and how many miles were on it and did you pre-mix or not?. I have premixed my engine from new and i use fully synthetic oil in the engine since new. Just wondering :).:wavey: |
So, Colorado meet? I'm waiting on emissions and a shock and I'll be registered.

While replacing the engine I also did the sohn adapter (super easy) trying to over come the start and die issue right now. |

I go out for lunch and I hear a loud pop see a bunch of white smoke. Eventually get it home and start trying to figure out wtf happened. I pull the cat and about a half gallon of coolant comes out. I bought it as a project / autox car. Bennet racing hooked me up with a new pack.

I am amazed my original cat is still working on my 8 with 103,000 and premixing all the way ?. There is enough info on this site to probably figure it out. Best of luck to you sir:). |
