As for a local RX7/general Rotary club, there used to be an RX7 club in Denver, but they seem to have died off. We threw around the idea of making the Rocky Mountain RX8 club a general rotary club, however, we already have a lot of members and for our first year, we didn't want to over burden ourselfs. In any case, you are always welcome to come to any of the meets/get togethers, etc. Please come sign up at our website and join in the discussions there as well.

Welcome, zmarko!

As Serff points out, we have not yet looked into setting up an RX-7 branch of our club, but we would LOVE to. All we gotta do is find some dynamic individual to make it happen. Know anyone? :D

I am a new owner too and obtained the car in late in September 2004. The car was built in June 04 so it should have all the recall stuff done. Had Burt Mazda order one out of Texas. Was worth the wait. Will not let this baby see the snow here in Colorado for sure. Not sure it will handle the white stuff anyway. Ours is an Auto and we are pleased with the car. I think this car is a keeper for sure. So for the end of September lets see what will happen in the Spring!!! Want to get fender strakes for this red beauty.

You're right to a point, it really depends on the rubber you have under the four corners. If you have the Potenzas, leave it in the garage when the snow flies, otherwise you'll be learning how to reset the CEL. (Trust me on this one!)

Tayninh 10-17-2004 05:57 PM

No,mine has the Bridgestones. Not much better I gather. Better tires later when these run down some. Hey, what's this is hear we might have a car meet in October possibly?

doccable 10-17-2004 11:17 PM

Oh Yah! There's a thread started on this here. And also on the Rocky Mountain Forum. Omicron has sent out a mass e-mailing about this to the registered members.

USAFA Tyrant 12-02-2004 11:43 PM

Hey all! Just got a shiny new toy. I haven't brought it out to Colorado yet because I'm a cadet at the Air Force Academy and I'm not allowed to have a car out here yet. I spend three tanks of gas in three days of Thanksgiving break... I love this car. I look forward to being active in the forums here. I've been surfing through them for about the past 6 months and just joined now that I have my car. Thanks!

Tayninh 12-05-2004 09:05 PM

Welcome USAF Tyrant. Glad you enjoy the car.

[QUOTE=zmarko]Hey guys. Hope you don't mind me posting here. I signed up a few months back when I was doing some research on the RX8. I've actually been lurking on the board here for awhile, but signed up just for fun.

Anyway, I own a '93 RX7 R1. I'm going to be moving to Colorado probably in the spring of '05. Somewhere near Denver. I've been looking at the NW side of Denver (Longmont, Boulder), and the Fort Collins/Loveland area as well.

Did you ever end up moving to Denver? Do you still have your FD?

MichaelB145 01-14-2005 12:17 AM

By the way, is there anyone on here that has most of the phone numbers for the RX-8 owners in Colorado? I would like to get as many rotary guys to our meet this summer. We don't have an exact date yet, but it will probably be on a Sunday in June. Parastie on the boards has all of the 2nd gen members, and I all of the 3rd Gen members phone numbers. We are still looking for someone that has 1st Gen and RX8 members contact info. We also would like to get other rotary vehicles to show as well. If you would like to be contacted...please email me at MichaelB145@aol.com and I will complile everyones name and number.

Hey mike, come over to http://rockymountainrx8.com and join the forums there. Either Omicron, Doc, or I could probably get you the info you want. I think you may want to come check out what we did last year though for our meet. We are again planning a meet for this June that may conflict with what ever you are planning. So please come on over to our webiste and post there about what you are planning and see if you get any takers there or not.

See ya there!

Bet these guys might want to join us as Second Creek, too. The more we get, the cheaper it is for all of us... :D

MichaelB145 02-13-2005 04:08 PM

What's up guys...I'm wondering if you guys got anything set up yet. Most of us 3rd Gen guys are into drag racing, but would still like to meet up with all of the RX-8 guys. We are also thinking of getting a caravan together to drive out to the Rotory Revolution. If you have not been, its a freaking blast! It's the 3rd week of April. I will put out more info out later on it.

Omicron 02-15-2005 07:37 PM

I went to SevenStock last year, does that count? :D

We're still working on the main meet and track day though. Keep an eye on the local club's website (click on the logo in my sig to get there) for updates.

My RX-8

Hey Guys -

I bought my RX-8 in March of 04. It's black, 6spd, and has the sport package on it. I bought it from Sil Ter Har Motors in broomfield, by the Target off of 120th. I love this car! I can't wait for racing season to start this year at bandimere, so i can see what times i can get this car to do. I'm very interested in joining a local colorado rx-8 club too, so i'll be sure to check out the Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club web site! I live in both Westminster and Morrison, and i've seen quite a few out there on the trip back and forth. I remember when i first bought the car I didn't see one on the road until i owned it for a good couple months! Good to see that more people are buying this great car and loving it!

I'm looking forward to joining your local club and meeting all of you! Until then, let the power of the rotory be with you :)

doccable 02-18-2005 02:48 PM

Welcome to the madness...er... the club :D If you'd like to PM me, I can help you get set up with the Rocky Mountain Club!

I too purchased mine at Sil Ter Har, but I found a used one. I work in Westminister, so you might see me around - silver GT with Kazera wheels ( for the winter). Unfortunately I do most of my (stop-and-go) driving on 287 between Westminister and Erie (home).

Hope to see you at the next RMRX8 Club meeting.

doccable 02-23-2005 05:53 PM

Ya! Me thinks spring is a-coming, and we need to set up a mini meet. Gotta bad case of cabin fever brewing here.... Whaddya think, Omi? :D

Duble08 02-26-2005 04:24 AM

On my way back to Morrison today (Feb. 25) heading from Westminster I spotted a Red 8 in Arvada around the area of Wadsworth and Ralston at around 4:30pm. Was that any of you guys? I was driving mine at the time too - it's a black 8. I was just curious.

Might have been me. Can't remember exactly where I was on Fri., but I know I was driving around all day. I live in Superior. I just got my 8 last Tues (and love it, of course). Velocity Red, GT, appearance pkg, rear spoiler, accents, stock wheels... Is that what you saw?

Duble08 03-04-2005 04:05 PM

I didn't really get a good look at it, but it could've been you. I'm pretty sure it had the appearence package on it, but i'm not really sure. It deffinatly had the stock rims though. I didn't even notice it was there until i passed it. (i was going south on wadsworth, and the RX-8 that i saw turned south onto wadsworth from the west side, somewhere around 62nd, i believe). There was a car dividing me from it, in the right lane. The red 8 turned a few blocks down and headed back west again. If that sounds like a familiar situation, and you remember seeing a stock black rx-8 with the sport package on it going south down wadsworth, one car in front of you, then it had to be you :) I don't know what it is about the car, but i still get excited every time i see one driving down the road, even though i own one myself :D

Swedishmax 03-04-2005 06:48 PM

hi guys, i've been a member here for a little while. im located in colorado springs . I've owned my Rx-8 since i got back from Iraq back in april 04. it's black- all options ( except the Gps). i recently added the MS front bumper and my own custom ram air. Im planning on buying the greddy turbo kit in about 3 months. im not sure yet whether to put it on myself or to have some shop around here do it. has anyone else bought the kit? or heard any good/bad news about it ? i'll try to add some pics of mine when i get a chance...do you guys ever get together for meets or anything?

MichaelB145 03-15-2005 03:41 AM

Hey guys, over on the RX7club.com forum we decided to get a Rotary meet later this month. It will be held at Hamburger Stand on 3rd and Union at 6pm weather permitting. Afterwards everyone is going to cruise down to Denver Motorsports to meet up with the rest of the import crowd. We have a ton of 3rd Gen RX-7's and 2nd Gen RX-7's. Does anyone know all of the 1st gen guys or older rotarys (RX-3's, cosmo's, ect).

Mike B

MichaelB145 03-15-2005 05:59 PM

The rotary meet is scheduled for Sunday 3-27-05 at Hamburger Stand at 6pm. If weather is bad...plan on the following Sunday same time ect.

MichaelB145 03-21-2005 12:05 AM

Hey guys, what happened to www.rockymountainrx7.com? It won't let me post anything. Any of you RX8 guys planning on comming by next Sunday?

RockyMtnHi 03-31-2005 09:40 PM

Hi Everyone,

New Lightning on the highway! Looking forward to meeting many of you.

MichaelB145 04-01-2005 12:25 AM

I think all the RX-8 guys died. lol....maybe they are hiding. We had 20 rotarys at the meet last week but no RX-8's. :([QUOTE]

Joz 04-18-2005 09:11 PM

Well, I know there a bunch of us in the Denver area; I keep tripping over 8's. Anyone getting together to compare mods?
BTW, I've heard that our area of the web site has the lowest posts! Here's a vain attempt to keep that number above zero. Are we all just enjoying our toys and not sitting in front of the computer? (unless it's your laptop in the driver's seat of your 8 in the garage!)

serff 04-19-2005 09:14 AM

Hey guys. Dunno where everyone has been, but we are in the planning stages of our 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain RX8 Club meet! So keep checking back to http://rockymountainrx8.com (The Colorado forum may not have a lot of posts, but we have our own website for that...;) ). If you haven't registered with the club, please do as soon as you can so we can keep in contact with you about the meet. See you all soon!

doccable 05-03-2005 07:00 PM

There's been a little activity over on the RMRX8Club site. If you're new to the forums here, or are going to be in the Denver area the weekend of June 4th/5th, be sure to keep checking our site for updates!
See everyone then!

Still can't use any other browser than IE to get into the rockymountainrx8.com web site. Does anyone but me care?

Yep - this is the first I've heard that it won't work with anything but IE. We'll look into it. :)

serff 05-06-2005 08:55 AM

I can get to it using Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, etc. What I can't do it use the admin pages in anything but IE. What is happening when you try to use another browser? Are you sure you don't have a proxy set in IE that you don't have set in your other browser? let me know.

Joz 05-11-2005 09:24 PM

I am running ZoneAlarm Pro and have it tightened down a bit. Interesting that the same through the same ZA (ZoneAlarm) I can't load any other pages than the main page via Mozilla Firefox, but I can using IE. Could just be me!
When I click on the "forums" link (or others) I get the following errors:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/rockymou/public_html/config.php:3) in /home/rockymou/public_html/includes/page_header.php on line 529

Ooohhhh, wait a minute! What I'm seeing now is a bit different. I used to (weeks ago) just see the 3 lines as copied above on a white background; no header, footer, banner, etc of the RMRX8 club site. Now I still see the 'error' messages, but it just looks like some part of the banner failed. I can now actually read the topics and see the site's pages....
Hey, sorry for any panic or confusion! I've been off surfing the site for a while (RMRX8C); just got back to this post! Sure looks fine (except for the pesky banner error, but who really cares about that?!)

Joz 05-11-2005 09:29 PM

Hold the phone! I'm not done yet! Now I remember: I have an account, but when I try to log in all I get is:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/rockymou/public_html/config.php:3) in /home/rockymou/public_html/mainfile.php on line 188

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/rockymou/public_html/config.php:3) in /home/rockymou/public_html/modules/Your_Account/index.php on line 700

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/rockymou/public_html/config.php:3) in /home/rockymou/public_html/modules/Your_Account/index.php on line 745

Like literally! No title, no banner, background, nothing else. I can view the site (with the pesky banner error) but just in a 'read-only' mode. Maybe my RMRX8C account is dorked.

kreuznach 06-01-2005 11:58 PM

Howdy all. I'm working down in the Springs for the next few weeks. I'm looking for a good road to kill and hour or two on in the evenings. Something twisty and not too much traffic. Anyone know of a good road in the area?

Thanks in advance.

doccable 06-02-2005 03:28 PM

Hey, kreuznach - ya gonna make the meet? I'm planning a caravan if ya wanna join! (From Laramie/Ft. Collins) :D
I was just down in the Springs a month ago, and we went up to Cripple Creek on hiway 24, it wasn't bad, especially on Monday morning, there wasn't any traffic at all on the way down.

igotanocho 06-20-2005 01:03 PM

Hey all just found this site a couple of weeks ago and decided to post, first forum i have been on but founds lots of useful information. I live in the North Denver area have had my 8 since September. Oh and despite what anyone says I think they are GREAT cars! :D

doccable 06-20-2005 11:06 PM

Hi there, igotanocho! There is an absolute wealth of info on this site -- use it. :) Also, have you had a chance to check out the RMRX8Club site?
If you want, you can PM me for more info!
Welcome to the forums!:D

igotanocho 06-22-2005 03:19 PM

Thanks for the welcome and I checked out the site and have the same name doesnt seem to be as busy as these forums though. And you are right too much stuff to read on these forums. I dont have anything done to mine yet, gotta save up but i think the first things from what i read that i am going to do is the REVi Intake, Hymee exhaust and a lightweight flywheel. Let me know if there are other things that i should consider or search for on the forums. Oh yeah any place in the Denver area that might be able to get these for me or a perfomance shop that is recommended for rotaries, I went to Sil-Terhar and didnt like the attitude that I got from the service people there. Thanks :)

New Rx-8 Shinka owner in Colorado

I was just seeing how active this forum is and also wanted to see how many other Shinka owners are in CO. I hope to get involved in some of the events around the area!

Swedishmax 07-09-2005 01:49 PM

hey guys, im from the Springs....i was wondering if anybody knows a good shop around colorado who would be able to install the Greddy Turbo kit. That's the only reason i have'nt bought it yet, the places around the springs don't seem to be to trust worthy. thanks
-Max

Zuhalter Vati 07-12-2005 02:26 AM

Are there any RX8 events happening in Colorado anytime soon? I have seen 2 other RX-8s in Loveland since I got mine. One was a Titanium grey and one was a Yellow. They were both on 287

Anyway, let me know as I really want to meet more 8 owners

igotanocho 07-13-2005 04:44 PM

Hey Zur I think the last one they had was at the beginning of June I had to work that weekend or I probably would have showed. By any chance do you live in the Broomfield area? Thats the only place I have seen a Shinka around north denver, my buddy has a blue 8 as well he just isnt into the forum thing i guess so i let him know of all the stuff I find on here. I also wouldnt mind if people were getting together at some time sounds like it would be a good time.

I got my car in Broomfield, but I live up in Loveland...like 25 minutes north. I really want to see a bunch of 8's together, would be fun as hell. Glad to see someone else on the Colorado forum, was beginning to wonder!

SwedishMax: Nice car . . . too bad I can't help you with the Greddy turbo install info.

Zuhalter & igotnocho: I live in Broomfield and work in Boulder. I know Omicron is up here (Boulder area) too. There are at least of few of us in this area. Welcome!

djgiron 07-25-2005 11:49 AM

Well I am from Aurora, as soon as I return from Iraq (next march) my first purchase will be a White GT :) Looking forward to that!

Jumah 07-29-2005 02:47 PM

Heyas all.

LONG time lurker here.

I and my Nordic Green GT live in Westminster, almost Broomfield. Have only seen one Shinka, and it was southbound on Wadsworth Blvd about 3 weeks ago, between 88th and 80th Aves.

As far as a mechanic is concerned, the only place I know of that I would readily trust is Rotary Specialists in Denver. Their shop as I recall is off Santa Fe and Evans or Dartmouth. I had some work done on my '88 RX-7 a few years back and they where great.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello finally and drop that on y'all since there were questions about a mechanic.

Yeah the Shinka was quite possibly mine. I bought it about that time. (July 4th) and have been to the dealer once. The Dealer is right off of Wads and HWY 36. Were you in your 8? I always keep an eye out and must have missed you if you were.
