I would suggest everyone get involved with the RMSolo. I am going to be starting my first season this year. Would be great to have some more 8 out there. Currently, I think I will be the only one that has one.

@8ya, I'm in Silverthorne and don't get to Denver too often or know the area other than the West end around Lakewood and Co Mill Mall. But I'd be down to getting to know and see some other 8's!!

go for an 06 or newer. that 04 is about to loose its warentee, but if you do go for any rx8 Get a compression test and a vacuum test.. make sure they have great maitenance records and pay extra for the best warentee the dealer offers.. and read all the stickies on this site. Good luck

I would also take a look and see if there have been any aftermarket mods done to the car that you can see. Not that anyone here has any mods or anything *cough* but in my experience in Cleveland a number of the cars that had aftermarket mods didn't hold up very long. Specific mods I would watch out for most would be the "cool *** Cold Air Intake" and K&N stickers. If proper maintenance was done you will find a hose the goes from the front of the oil cap and down toward the passenger side, if not it will go to the driver side. If it goes to the driver side verify that there is no oil in the upper intake manfold, just unscrew the according tube and swipe your finger on the inside. Lastly...if the car is a manual...take a look at where the clutch pedal attaches to the firewall. There is a known issue with the clutch pedal snapping off where you can see the cracks forming. If you see three spot welds for the clutch pedal I wouldn't buy it until they replaced the pedal with a repaired one. Best of luck!

The track days being on a Friday probably puts a lot of people out for a meet there. Im open to a meet south of hear, but maybe not all the way to the Springs this go around. Time is a little short at the moment with track season being upon us.

I'm down for headin North for a meet...I dun mind. I just figured that everyone went through the same cycle that we did in Cleveland where every March/April everyone put on their cool new parts that they acquired and drooled over all winter. With things being so mild...I guess not.

Well, I think money has been a little tight for some people lately, and they probably don't have a huge pile of parts sitting on their lawn waiting to be installed.
What we could do, if there was any interest, is have a day where people can bring their cars, say, to my house, that want to have simple maintenance done. Plugs, wires, coils, brakes, diff and trans fluid changes, oil change, etc.
As Iluvrevs can tell you, I know my way around a car, and have a decent enough garage to get a couple cars in and out in a short enough period of time. Heck, I would even be willing to hold a once a month "How to work on your car" training class.
I just showed iluvrevs how to change his brake pads, front and rear.
I showed slvrmzdrx8 last year how to change ignition coils.
We could probably do something once a month, if there was someone who needed parts installed. Its that, or we take apart a good car, and put it back together.
BC.

Congrats. Maybe you should meet me/me and BC at the track next month and get real appreciation for this machine. Or we could go over it with a fine tooth comb at his place if we get meets going there.

BC and I go to HPR http://highplainsraceway.com/. But, no weekend track days until October. I will usually just take off a Friday once or 2x a month but not everyone has that option.

In Cleveland I used to go to AutoX events and take photos for the event and have free reign of where I was both on and off course, with a spotter. On the site it doesn't identify the "spectator" area. Is this area in a decent enough location for it to be worth my drive down to take photos? And if I were able to make it down would someone be able to spot for me, as my spotter is in Cleveland on business?
Photos can be found here if anyone is interested...

I can't answer any of those questions definitively, but I would say that something could be worked out if you were to come. My guess would be you could get set up with a corner worker and they could keep an eye out for you, but you would have to ask someone that knows better than I.
