Colorado - Raid Bandimere

Is there anybody out there who goes to Bandimere on wednesdays? I never see other 8's there.

We should set up a wendsday, preferably before I take my car to the body shop to repair my bumper. Someone backed into my 8 and cracked my INGS front bumper. It's not fiberglass so I might have to buy a new one. imported from japan. took a year to get hear last time .

Post on what you think. I'd love to race another 8. I either get killed by STI's or kill WRX's.

We Can raid bandimere. :

I'm talking about the drags out in morrison, colorado at bandimere speedway. It's
going to be quit a drive from the springs. Every wendsday they have a test and tune day for anyone who wants to pay 30 bucks to drag.

here's a link to google maps.

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=...&t=h&z=14&om=1

I havn't seen any 8's up there. I see a lot in Denver and Lakewood, but never at the track. It's sucks that the 8's lose 2 seconds on the quarter up here though. I wish Colorado was at sea level.

If enough people say they want to go up there this wednesday, May 23, we could meet someplace and get there when they open up at 4.

Colorado has a few nice kart tracks including the one at Bandimere. I would love to try the 8 at Grand Junction.

Nothing much. I only have a k&n intake and cat-back exhaust. I've beat them when my car was completely stock. WRX's are slow, i's the STI's you have to worry about, but I have a plan for beating those STI's and Evo's.

Are you going up to Bandimere on wednesday? I'll be up there around four or five o'clock.

I'm sorry, but WRX's aren't slow. The only one's you're beating must be launching very poorly as they'll run low 15's to high 14's depending on the driver and the year when they are stock. In fact, what times do you run? Every time I've been to Bandi I've never seen an 8 run faster than a low 16.

Besides, the RX8 is out of its element at Bandi, you should be going to NASA HPDE's in Pueblo.

Ya, It's true, I do run low 16's with crappy take-offs.My best was 16.2, I can't get my tires to stick, I keep on slipping. I've raced 2 wrx's up there and they both got in the 17's. You must be thinking of WRX STI's. I've also raced 3 on the streets and won. I doubt that there are 5 crappy wrx racers out there. They should be launching good anyways, they have AWD, which = no slipping.

The two I raced had way better launches than me but half way down the track i started pulling away from them. One guyeven had minor body mods, like carbon fiber hood and trunk.

If I can get a good launch (Practice more) I might be able to hit high 15's.

If someone is getting a 17 in a WRX, they can't drive. Trust me, my stock 07 WRX is quite a bit faster than any stock RX8. I'm not talking ****, just the truth. I came very close to buying an 8 and I test drove a few and got to flog one. An 8 will have a hard time keeping up with a WRX from a roll at sea level and will get its *** kicked up at altitude.

That's what sort of times a stock 02-04 WRX can run with a good driver. Here's my source: http://www.awdpirates.net/phpBB2/qtr...le=-1&start=30

There is no way on earth that a stock WRX is getting anywhere close to what an STI can run. Unless those guys can't drive either. I'm talking about real racing, not this rolling start crap. Anything can beat the 8 on rollin start.

STi's should run high 13's up here with a decent driver. And most of the time if you race on the street its at a roll. If a Subaru gets a launch on you, you don't have a chance at all if the driver's worth a damn.

I've never seen an sti do better than 14.4 yet alone wrx do better than high 15s.
Did they turn the boost up?

Maybe it the ones I raced were older . i really don't pay attention or now what year it would have been. Maybe a 99 or 00

If it's a 99 or 00 it most likely not boosted because there was no WRX before 02 in the US. They are slow.

Don't worry about the WRX or STi . . . the RX-8 has the style advantage and if you add some wet spray, you'll smoke them. Besides, who wants to drive the "National Car of Boulder" (all Subarus)?!

CrazyGreekRX-Racer: I don't get to Bandimere much because we own a Drive-In movie theatre and Saturdays are busy. Why don't we hold a meet at the Drive-In sometime this Summer? I can get the Commerce City Gateway newspaper to cover the event, and give away free stuff! What do you think?

I know what you mean about them being the National car "of America". Everyone and their Grandmothers has one. Yhea, i'll admit, they're fast but if you look at it like I do, a 4 door sedan is not a sports car and it's just not right.

About the meet. I took my car in for an estimate and am probably going to hand it over to the my body man to fix my bumpers and side skirts.

1. Never drive in Lakewood during an Ice storm.
2. Never drive after an Ice storm. (pot holes)
3. Most important never park behind women.

I'm up for the meet. I'll let you know when I get my car out of the shop. It'll probably be out of the shop in one or two weeks. The drags at Badimere are every wendsday. 30 dollars to race. I really want to race another 8. I can't wait till next year when I plan to buy a turbo kit by spring.
