Here's the cool thing about HPR, there are a bunch of different ways to enjoy it.
During the summer season (ends Oct 31), you can choose a full day of driving (8 am to 5 pm, lunch at 12 to 1), or a half day of driving (8am to 12, or 1pm to 5pm).
If you pay the day of the event, its $160 for full day, or $100 for a half day.
If you pay in advance, its $150 or $90.
But, if you know you're going to do it multiple times, or if there's going to be you and several other people joining, you can buy lapping day cars, which reduces the price a bit.
I just bought a 3 pack for Half Day, which brings the individual price down to $81 a ticket. Plus, I can hand over my ticket to whomever I want, like my gf is using one tomorrow.
If a couple of people wanted to join in, we could pool cash, and buy one of these packs of lapping day tickets. a 6 pack of half days costs $475, which brings it to just over $71 a piece. Get a 12 pack, and its $75 a piece to cover the $900.
Something to consider.

Alrighty, lets see if I can't get this right from my experience a couple weeks back:
I brought a 5 gallon gas can filled with me to the track of Shell Super.
I used that at the end of the day to pour into the tank, and get me back home.
I had about 1/8 of a tank in there when I dumped in the gas, so it turned off the low fuel light.
I used pretty much a full tank of gas getting there and back for a half day at the track.
I filled the car with gas up the street from my house when I filled the gas can, and since its ~70 miles from my place to the track, I burned about 3 to 4 gallons getting there (YMMV, no kidding).
When I got to the track, I topped off the engine with oil, and when I got back home at the end of the day, I had used about a quart, I do believe. YMMV on this one, too. If your oil injection system isn't working 100%, you will use less, obviously.
Since the track is in the middle of nowhere, you either pay their high prices for race fuel to top up your car, you bring a gas can with fuel with you, or you drive the 17 miles back to I-70 where there's 2 gas stations and pay their prices, which are about the norm for a station off of I-70 in the middle of nowhere. Your choices.
I would highly recommend washing your wheels before going to the track, and taking a look at your brake pads, and make sure they are in decent shape. You really don't want to have your brakes fade or fail on you when coming off the long straight.
As for a date, someone else needs to choose.
Who can come on a Friday?
Who can come on a Saturday?
Say something.

I may be able to to make one of those days if a couple people decide to commit to a 3 pack of tickets to save me a few bucks :D It will also depend on other circumstances as well. Does it cost to bring passengers along in your car, or is it a car price?

You could bring 5 cars with you, and if you're the only one driving, its just the 1 ticket for you to drive them all.
As for passengers, you can have 1 passenger in the car with you, as long as they have a helmet on. No extra charge.

PM me and we can work something out for track fees. I was looking at going with a 3 full day pack and can split with you one day. I was under the impression we were doing a full day so please advise if Im incorrect. My helmet hasnt come yet, so that would be the only issue with Saturday for me.

If that's the only thing holding you up, you can borrow one.
One is a Black Shoei RF1000, Large, and well worn. I just retired it from my motorcycle riding yesterday, as I just got a new helmet.
My other helmet is a 10 year old Yellow HJC. Its either a large or an extra large.
I can't even tell you the last time I wore it, as its been a long, long time.
It has many miles on it, too.
If you want to wait until next Friday instead, let me know.
And yeah, I was aiming for half day for a Friday track run.
For the Saturday instead, I might come in at noon for the start of the afternoon session.

Ok, lets do Saturday. I will get another 3 half day pass and work out the details at the track unless BC thinks Im missing something.
BC, could I use both helmets? I may bring the kid along.

We MIGHT escape the rain in the afternoon. Cold enough not to need race fuel too. Though I know you dont run it I got used to it in my EVO so it may help here too when warm enough. Then again I dont know as much about rotaries yet as many here do.

Cool. The weather looks more promising this week than it did the other.
Was Silver planning on making it, or is he still suffering from schoolbook overload?

Since Iluvrevs and I are the only ones in this whole state who like driving RX-8's on a track, we met up at HPR on Friday, and had a grand old time tearing up the track, and pushing ourselves faster and faster around the many corners.

Its going to be a while before the track is up and running again, since they are closing it come Monday for a bit of repaving work in the couple of spots that need it.

Was a perfect day.
Temp right around 70 degrees.
Practically no wind.
Good variety of cars out on the track, including some eye candy, and many engines that made your ears very, very happy.
Hopefully next time we do this, there will be more of you to join in.
