Berni,
Don't get me wrong, Vegas heat is far better than winter anything, anywhere. I to grew up in Florida (Daytona) so I know heat, but this is dry heat....much better! We have a dry heat here in Albuquerque as well, but we're lucky (or unlucky) to see to 100 at all during the summer. An advantage to being at 5000 feet. I don't think I could like in Florida again. Visit is OK however. You at Nellis?

Looks like Montana is dead. oh well, use to the diffrent beat of my drum, Tablet PC, Chinese, own guns... scratch that last one. There is a white 8 in town here(Bozeman) that keeps sparking my intrest. I'm a WANTER not an owner.
BTW: I'll take bozeman any day compaired to the hot.

Yes there Are RX8 Drivers in Montana
I am a RX8 Owner Originally from Missoula Montana where there is a handful of RX8's primarily owned by people higher in age. as is in most of the state and across the country. I am currently in Great Falls Montana where there are a few RX8's around. heard of one on malstrom afb that is sponsored for some nice upgrades. not sure if it is true or not I haven't seen it. they all seem to be basic. I believe I am the youngest in the area to be an owner. and mine was custom order from japan hurting me at $56k but it was worth every penny. I haven't had the finances since to upgrade. but look to hopefully sometime soon.
but yes rx8 owners are around. and montana is a great state for them. I have traveled with mine everywhere from seattle to oregon through washington idaho north dakota south dakota ohio all the way to nashville ordered it out of kentucky originally had it up in michigan for a few months and in Minnesota too. dispite the lower fuel rating of usually only 91 in montana. the dry air and moderate elevation actually leaves room for a lot of play. I have had days where my car jets off on a long straight road easily up into 130's plus before I let off the throttle. but then on other days of changing weather 110 to 120 only feels comfortable. all said and done though. montana is a sweet state to have any car that you plan on having a little fun in. with all the open roads straight and windy. and on top of that much much smaller speeding fines than in most states.
I am in montana and have wanted more montana forums. I have yet to talk to a rx8 owner in montana under 40.

I am an RX-8 owner near Billings, and I am 27. I've had the car for 18 months, and am selling it due to the abysmal service at Bob Smith Lincoln Mercury Mitsubishi Mazda in Billings. I could go for PAGES on their incompetance and poor customer service. If you live near Missoula and can go to Flanagan's, thank your lucky stars that you don't have to deal with the stupids here.
I have an '04 6MT Velocity Red Sport. It's a BLAST - and I get sooooo many looks in it! I pretend they're looking at me and not the car
I drove mine every day this last winter - which was the most icy-road-filled winter I can remember in Montana (I've lived here since I was 3). I went off the road once, and spun 180 degrees once. I was going about 20 mph both times, as it was PURE ice, so nothing got hurt but my pride either time. I put new Bridgestone Blizzaks on it about a month into winter, and had nary a problem after that.
Montana is one the best states to own an RX-8.... just for the Gallatin Canyon and the Beartooth Pass alone. Wheeeeeeeee....................! I've lived a few other places, but MT is home.
Anyone wants to buy I'm listed in the classifieds - give me a holler! Really wanting to sell, as I've already bought a replacement.

Wow MT. I was just out there this weekend for a football game I was in. I was in the Missoula area and I would say that seems like a hard place to own an RX8. But good stuff repen the RX8 in MT.

Lately Great Falls has had a influx of RX8's a couple of grey ones. a few in the military. multiple red ones. one, many are only automatics as I have seen including all of the rx8's currently for sale at car dealerships. taylor motors sold two in the past month and has a white one still. some day when more rx8 owners in mt get on this site we will have to do a rx8 meet.
