Ok - I'm looking for Controls Technicians for combustion equipment, welders and Pipefitters. Of course you'd be forced to relocate to Vegas. It was chance that you had some experience that I needed for my company and me having a good paying job for you.

Just like Jethro, most of the people working for me have been been with me for 10 years or more but growth is killing me.

That's interesting. I know a couple of the higher-ups at Bullfrog. Alex, who was either president or VP last time I talked to him, and Steve (Fliesher). Been awhile since I talked to them, though. It's been since before they moved into the new factory.

Hey, to all the local SLC/northern Utah area 8 owners- I've kind-of moved to the "other" RX-8 Website for my regular hang-out, and will only be checking-in here a few times a month. If you ask me something through a PM on this Website it may take a week or two for me to reply. Some of you have my email and I'll reply to emails within a day or two. Let's definitely plan a good run for springtime!

Hey WL, WN, MM, DD, SC, bose. Well my 8's been in the garage for 25 days now, absolutely no snow, salt or sand has touched it. I've started it and warmed it up every few days. It starts right up without even touching the gas pedal. So one month is just about over and only two more to go. I can't wait for March; hopefully the DOT won't be salting roads by then and spring rains will wash the salt and sand away. I'm determined to not drive this car in winter unless it's an absolute emergency.

I got my second set of rims a few weeks ago and picked up a second set of center inserts. I got the chrome Mazda logo because the rotary centers are $37 apiece!
I'll be shopping for a better set of tires than the Dunlops in a month or two, as soon as I get my tax return back from my accountant and know if I have some play money (refund) or not. I want to get a second set of TPMS units too. Then I can swap tire sets myself right in my own garage.

Hope you guys all had a Merry Christmas and Santa brought you what you wanted!

Hey Jethro! Hope the withdrawls are getting better, just know that the 8 doesn't like the cold. Quick question for all does anyone know of a shop locally that know rotaries...other than the Mazda stealership? I don't trust the guys @ d dahle mazda of murray, they are asshats. I have a couple cels but don't wanna take it to those fools, please help if you can. Thank you in advance.

By the way the cel code that pulled we're.
p0126-insufficent temprature for stable operation-not getting to operating temp and. p0302-rear rotor misfire. I think this was caused by a spark plug wire had slipped off the plug last weekend I plugged it back in, but idk if the plug is completely fouled or not.

Opinions, comments, questions...please help.

I started it up tonight and warmed it up to operating temperature. Started right up. Let it run about 20 minutes until it was nice and toasty inside, listened to a CD, revved it up a few times and let it sit on 3000 for 15 seconds every minute or two for a few. Still clean as a whistle inside and out, just like it was when I parked it November 30th. Backed it out and rolled it forward a few times. Checked the tires and they haven't lost any air pressure in the month it's been parked. Oh, that reminds me, I have to re-plug the exhausts before I go to bed. Keeps the mice from getting ideas about setting-up housekeeping in the muffler...

bose, I actually just had to call mazda roadside. I started my car on christmas day and it threw a check engine. They towed it to D Dahle, and yes they are dousche's! They told me that the injector map settings were screwed all outa wak. Plus my plugs were all gunked up. So they reflashed it to the "'08 Calibration" what ever that is. It runs hella better now, almost smoother that when I bought it used. Just lettin ya know what happened to mine.

"My" dealership was Legacy Mazda, in Orem, but they are just too far away- and I found out that last fall they lost 3 techs. It was taking them forever to do the simplest stuff, like an oil change. 2 hours!
I'd heard about the problems with D. Dahle, so I switched to Bountiful Mazda- and found out that their general manager used to be my neighbor about ten years ago!
I'm sold on Bountiful Mazda now. They treat me like a king, listen carefully to what I have to say about the car, and are prompt. An added bonus is that it is very close to my office, so I can drop it off and they shuttle me to work and pick me up again when it's done.
No hassle at all that I bought the car at a different dealership. The service writer even noticed that I'd installed the clear corners and said it had no effect on the warranty because they are Mazda parts...and he liked the way it looked. They never even noticed the clears at Legacy.

I had a check engine light come on awhile ago. took it to checker and they said it was because I was running lean. That didnt surprise me because I have an after market intake. I took it to D dahle just to make sure and they ran it through some kind of maintainance dealand passed it off as warranty even though they thought it was the intake too. So that was nice, However they said they wouldnt do it again lol. My engine light has been turning on and off again though recently and I havent had a chance to find out what it is yet. When the code said it was running lean the light was always on. I wonder if I'm getting the whole temperature probem too. After all I have to keep it parked outside in a car tent.

Good to hear they got her running, for SC. Maybe I need the new flash, I think I'll take Jethro's recommend for bountiful mazda and see if I need it and have them change my thermostat. Darius do you know what the codes were? My temprature one is p0126 but I can tell it's the thermostat cause it goes to just below the middle and then drops to a quarter and the goes up on my journey to work, I think my car was meant to live in Hawaii she despises the cold.

I've got plugs and coils just need to install them and then get the dealership to change the t-stat she'll be perfect again.

Bose, I'd be interested in seeing where your temp. gauge sits in summertime.

Mine has only been run about every week and I've never had any temp related issues. I'll be warming it up again this afternoon.

Tell us how Bountiful Mazda treats you.

Well, the cel went off by itself the other day, I guess after a few drive cycles the ecu realized there was nothing wrong, changed the plugs, wires and coils and she runs better than when I picked her up. I'm just gonna monitor the temps and see if it returns.

Jethro, I'm not sure where she'll sit in the summer I got her in late september so I haven't driven her in hotter than 80.

When it's up to operating temp, my gague always sits at exactly the same place. The needle is about one and half ticks to the left of center. Never waivers, even when I drove it last summer in 100-degrees, with the AC cranked up.

Hey I live up in Logan, UT and bought my '06 new from Bountiful Mazda. I have free tires for life from them so I've been making the drive for service. I just wanted to say that their service department is fantastic, but like most places the salesman fed me a lot of lies and didn't put anything in writing except the stuff I really cared about. So a big thumbs up for the service department, but double thumbs down for the sales and financing *****.

Post on this forum a day before you come "down" here next time, tibetan eskimo, and maybe we can get together.

I have the tires for life, too- but I bought a second set of rims and will be buying a second set of tires soon. The stock Dunlops sure seem loud to me. What tire are you running? How many miles have you got on them so-far?

Right now I'm running 17's with winter tires, the tires for life program I have an option of either the bridgestone potenza re040's or kumho ecsta's. I've heard really good things about the kumho's so i might try them even though they are the less expensive option for the dealer. The potenza's are really noisy also, I noticed the winter tires are far more quiet. I had about 11k on them before I swapped out for the winter tires.

Today after I shoveled the driveway, the sun came out and it dried-up in a couple of hours. I started the 8 and warmed it up, then backed it down the driveway (my driveway is over 80 feet long) and drove up and down a few times to limber everything up. The first few times I braked, the brakes squeaked but after a few fast stops, the squeak disappeared. Once it was at operating temperature and had been warm for a while, I backed down to the end of the driveway and revved it up, did a fast start headed for the garage. Left a nice 5 foot-long patch on the driveway! Then I wiped her down - took some brake dust off the rims, did the windows, and parked her back on the carpet. Stuffed the rags back up the exhaust and put the cover back on until next time, about a week.

I wish spring would hurry up and get here.
