Sadly the stock rotary accent is not usable, so I have an extra rear if anyone wants it. But they do make a accent that will work but it's separate. and yes the trunk was unlatched, I still hadn't put in the driver side trunk liner. I'll get a pic of the strakes later today.

^I'd be up for a meet somewhere for coffee or a beer, but probably wouldn't have time for a cruise. And, it looks like bad weather rolls-in on Sunday with rain and temps in the '60's forcast for Monday. Summer is over!

Love the strakes! How long did the install take? Keep an eye on them and let us know if there are any paint-abrasion issues where they overlap the sheet-metal. I think I'll be ordering a set next payday for sure. Where did you get yours?

No worries on the paint abrasion, they give you some 3m tape to put underneath it so you don't do such a thing. 10 minutes is all it took so freaking easy it's ridiculous. Got'em from RX8strakes.com. Ordered them Friday and got them the very next Monday.

I would love to go for a cruise or meet up on Monday. I have no plans at all.

Also, bose where did you get your new wheels? I really want to sell my 20" rims and get some smaller gunmetal ones like yours but I have no clue were to start. BTW those strakes are awesome! They look way good.

Any recommendations on what kind of tire I should get for winter or other winterization tips?

Thanks

Looks awesome bose! Yeah, it must've been Tull that I saw. I can meet later today...

Last year EVERYONE stopped offering the 18" studs!! So I had to get the Perelli "Ice" tires and thought I was getting jipped but they ROCK! Driving on them vs. all seasons (which I drove on the entire winter before) was like DAY AND NIGHT. The tread actually spreads open on the ice and grips it. It still can't come close to front wheel control but it's so much better than the alt.

And Bose, I can't miss work either. The guys from Vegas are leaving too early for me to catch (even if I drive really really fast ) so I might try to go out Fri. afternoon or eve. They say most the stuff is on Sat. anyway...

I'm sorry I got so slammed this weekend, I had no time to even wash my car

Thanks for the comments guys. Roxas I got them from Discount Tire, but I had them price match Mach III motorsports price. I suggest looking at wheeldude.com or just search the web for the lowest price and if the website with that price doesn't have the color you want discount can most likely get it and match the price.

And I looked into sevenstock and I can most likely go it's just do I wanna try and drive 10 hours after working and school for 18 hours. cause if I left Saturday I would get there in enough time to enjoy it.

Hey guys, this friday is the last midnight drags at RMR so I am heading out there to race if anyone wants to come watch or race with me.. I have never actually done a drag so any tips that anybody has would be great, I just want to see what times I put on the board personally (and drive really fast without being illegal) I saw a silver one race last friday and if I remember right he pulled a 15.6 or something, was that anyone here? it looked and sounded stock so I know it wasn't you Bose

I got the Ice tires or whatever they are, the guy said they were the only snow tires that fit on my stock rims.. ($1,200 dollars for the set of 4) but I was driving just fine all winter and I have to drive up parly's canyon for work, I only slid around a little bit one day when they had the canyon closed for a couple hours because of the big storm but I still made it down just fine after they opened it back up.. not alot of torque in this car makes it pretty good in the snow with some decent tires, better than a mustang at least

Thanks for the info guys. I was driving home from work sunday night on I-15 when there was that decent sized rain storm. It was terrible. I was all over the place. If I went above 55 I started to hydroplane. It made me fear what the winter possibilities are, but I'm hoping one I get some smaller rims and snow tires it will improve.

If you can put 200 or 300 lbs. in the trunk, that will help a lot with winter traction, on any tires. It won't help your mileage or handling any, but it will keep the tires stuck to the pavement more often.

I was driving down Parley's River (Canyon) during that storm. Literally you could see the water's current on the road, but I never once felt squirrelly or like I was hydroplaning. My tires are great in the wetness Falken FK452's are awesome summer tire.

Don't know what's good for winter but I personally am trying to find a beater car so I can park my 8. I'd rather risk smashing a older car than my pretty little baby, besides at $1300 for the set of tires I could pick up a beater and it would be cheaper or about the same. So if you know of any cars that don't need a whole engine or transmission for a grand or less let me know.

There you go, just like old Jethro. Park that baby for 90 days or so and it makes you appreciate it so much more when you take it out again in March. And your 8 will thank you for keeping the sand and salt off of her as well.

Since my 8 is just a weekend car, I have an old '91 Explorer to commute in during the workweek year-round. It's a V-6 so it gets about the same mileage as the 8, but doesn't need premium gas. Cheap to insure and 4WD when I need it 3 or 4 times each winter when a snowstorm blows-in during rush hour.

Looks good 04!! They should add that color for 2010!

Roxas, I think my Perelli set was only $850 for all four but might've gone up this year. And I put em on m stock rims and drove great in them. No steep hills or deep snow obviously but we're good enough drivers that we can get around just fine in these Utah winters. (and I did put a couple hundred pounds of salt in my trunk; as much as I could fit only had to use it twice)

ok this weekend would be PERFECT for a BBQ. I say Saturday. Where should we meet?

Oh I forgot to tell you guys, there's a new recall out that you gotta go get done!! It is awesome and only takes a minute. I was experiencing a loss of power sometimes in any gear at any temp and any rpm. It felt like it wasn't getting enough fuel or oil or something, and sounded a little rough. I knew it wasn't the injectors cuz I had them scrubbed at my last major checkup. So it is a programing issue that has to do with the oil pumps not putting enough in or something. My guru didn't even know the details of it yet but it seems to have worked. I'm FAST again!!

I think you have to reserve those. You may want to call the Salt Lake City Parks Department just to make sure.

I know you have to reserve them in Sugarhouse park.
