thought about helping you, and googled "how to shrink head".
well.... I found people do shrink heads, but not in the way Fuz would appreciate.
and I decided not to post... but if you want, go ahead and search... make sure you have strong stomach...

I am going in April - also went just a few months ago in January - always a great time up there - so many roads to drive, I could spend weeks driving around there! You need to go to DGRR if you can manage it like Fuz said, it is an addicting experience.

I usually am, despite what my wife thinks.

Could be the crappy Kroger's gas too. I don't put that in the 8, although I have been using Costco and the 8 seems to run well on it and save me about .20/gallon.
We use Kroger's for all our cars and it doesn't give any problems (including the two boosted ones). Maybe a different supplier where I live?

Based upon the variety of rotaries that showed up at The Mitty last year that came down from DGRR, I would say so. I am hoping to make it one day myself, maybe once I get my RX-7 restored. I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't want to go (although she does surprise me sometimes), and it would be hard for me to spend the weekend driving a car with the plate, "Her 8."

Hard because all the ladies would be hitting on you with a plate like that you sexy beast Take the Miata - the Epic East Coast Mazda Meet Guys and Girls are camping up that way the same weekend as DGRR so it will be a great time for all Mazda enthusiasts, not just Wankel lovers!

Take the miata to DGRR chief. They won't mind. There were a few non rx cars last time including a 996 turbo.

I will be buying my wife an RX-8 this Friday for her birthday. Looking forward to meeting many of you this year. We typically do the Dream Street cruise-in on Friday's at Sub Station II Florence, Edwardo's in Crittenden, KY on Thursdays... and Fillmore's on Sundays. I believe there is also some cruise-ins at the El Toro Bravo in Walton on Wednesdays now. I'm sure more will pop up this year, but hopefully we will make it to some of the Rotary meets.

OK boys and girls. I almost loaded up the tires/wheels into the CX-7 to haul them over to Wheel Dr to get painted. Second thoughts and logic started to kick in.

I can sell off my all-seasons/rims for $450 or so and offset some of the purchase of new rims instead of painting them for $400. What a thought!

Check out these two links on the rims I like. The Raijins are lighter by about 5lbs/wheel, which that lightens up the unsprung weight a lot vs. the EKM3 at 24.8 lbs each.

Let's vote.

both look pretty good, but are a little too flat faced.

How much are you looking to spend total?

no problem, but I generally get home around the same time if you don't mind the hour... but I have to remind you that I have no cat, and the rb dual resonated mid pipe, so on one hand is louder that it is with cat on, and on the other is not as loud as if I had a racing midpipe... depends on what you want or you are looking for... but would be glad to do it...

Steve, check out http://www.wheelflip.com

That or evolutionm.net (evo forums) or the subaru forums. Lots of nice wheels at decent used prices.

I vote Raijin, but I like like these better for the money if your going to use your stock tires.

...or these, and I can sell you my 285/30/18's real cheap (200), it would fit without a roll.

225's would be a decent stretch on a 9in wheel though. My 245 R1R's aren't even completely square on my 9's

sorry, I meant to post the 18x8 one on that, yeah that would be a bit much.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/18x8-Konig-D...e66eaf&vxp=mtr

+20 offset may be a little much +25 would be better

I see they have them in +40 as well. I do like these better, but Steve is probably after something more mesh looking for his ride.

In any case I won't be home for DGRR this year. I would like to go down and run Deal's Gap sometime, the wife said she wanted to go somewhere my next time home but sadly she has already nixed taking the Miata on any more long trips.

Konig has some nice wheels and they aren't too heavy. The Lightspeeds I have on the Miata are 15 X 7.5 and around 13.5 pounds.

acmarauder, congrats on your purchase. I might have to try and make some of those cruise-ins next time home, I knew about the one at the ice cream place on 18 in Florence (is that Fillmore's?) but not the others.

Welcome from Walton. You must live in Triple Crown right?

Chief your wheels look great on the Miata. I think these rims are 25lbs though oh well.

Steve If you want something more quality and light, you can try this as well.

This is a heck of a deal.

http://www.workwheelsusa.com/outlet-...hp?product=117

http://www.workwheelsusa.com/outlet-...hp?product=116

These wheels retail for over $400.00 a piece and look so good on an RX8. I know Steve you have said you don't want to go to a narrower wheel.

Here is a 18X7.5 Enkei with a +45 offset and 235/40/18 (slightly wider tire). You really can't tell the difference. Something to think about if you like those rims.
