You're not paying attention! Post 4231 (looking at it, seems I was a little bit cryptic). Still waiting on the guy to ship it, he was busy last week/had to find a box etc. Said he would ship either last Friday or yesterday but no word from him yet. I have gotten the impression he isn't a fast mover. If I don't hear from him by today I'll write him (we are now just two hours ahead of home so that works much better for stuff like this). My buddy is on standby to pick it up for me.

Fuz: I'm glad to hear that nothing happen... weld it and it would be a good time for a bracket.
BB8: that tint would look good james!!
Wendy: did you get pictures of the 8 that was "best car"???
Chief: congratulations on the recaro seats!!

Yeah, seems like no damage, won't find out until i get it fixed up i guess. No need to buy a bracket if it's welded properly. I think the RR bracket is bulky and over priced by about $200.
I'm really not in a big rush, as long as I have it ready to go for the track by mid june i'll be happy.

Anybody in here want to buy my Axial Flow master cylinder brace? It will include a stock front brace that is already cut out for it so it is plug and play (I'll take your brace in trade). Don't ask me for a picture, I don't have any and can't get one! Only thing about it is it won't fit on some aftermarket shocks (why I ended up not using it). It's the blue anodized one. Looks like it's NLA so get your rare part today! Well ok, not today, more like three weeks time I get home and get settled.

No, unfortunately. It uses bolts with an internal female thread to attach to two of the upper shock studs, and with the D-Specs there aren't enough threads for the bolt to grab. It's why I can't use it (I ended up getting a Mazdaspeed front brace with the integral MC brace).

a rotary in theory is easy to rebuild. To do it right = not so easy. Check out Shadycrew31's thread about rebuilds before you dump any money on anything.
A good rebuild will run you upwards of $4000 once you buy all of the seals and gaskets, cut the side seals yourself, have the plates lapped if needed or possible, and buy new housings.

I am looking to get my starter tested because I believe it is starting to go bad. It takes around 5 o 6 seconds with the key turned for my 8 to start up and to solve the problem I've gotta start somewhere. From reading around the forums I notice a lot of people say that the 04-05 8's have weak starters which leads me to believe I might fall into this category. So with that being said does anyone know a good reliable place in the cincy area to go get this tested where I won't be charged an arm and a leg? (dealership wants to charge me upwards of $150-$175) just to test. I would pull it myself and test it but I'm so busy with work and school I don't have time. Also would anyone know where to go get a compression test at an affordable price if I were to ever need one. Just so I know for future reference.

Bobby: Any parts store should be able to test your starter for free. You'll have to go to a dealership for a real compression test. I don't know of anyone who has a rotary compression tester. Should be around 100 - 150 for the test. If you're under still inside the 8yrs/100k miles and it fails, it should be free if they replace the engine.
If its hard to start all the time, there's a good chance it's just a starter. Any ideas on how long the coils, plugs, and wires have been in the car?
Chief: Congrats! Hopefully we'll see you soon.

It'll be great to see Chief again. I miss his Miata.
Not sure I'll be at Fuel tomorrow. Forecast isn't great at the moment. Right now I'm finishing up my antibiotics for bronchitis so if it's cold and damp, I'm a no-show. It'll be the last weekend I can go for a couple weeks since I'm going on vacation to CA for a week of warmth and dryness.
I may be placing the order for a cat-back soon. Job situation seems positive and I'm being recruited by a couple other companies so the future is bright.

Most auto parts stores need you to pull the starter out yourself in order to test it don't they? Im trying to avoid that with my current busy schedule. Also I'm not sure how long the coils plugs and wires have been in the car. I bought the car used with 19500 miles on the engine that is currently in the car which is the 3rd engine that's been in it. That much i know. I eventually want to upgrade to the BHR ignition system but it might come sooner than I would like if the starter is good.

Bobby: the starter is really easy to remove on our cars. It only takes me about 5 minutes to take it off (not including the time to jack up the car and such). You only have to disconnect the battery, remove 3 bolts and a clip. If I was around Cincy longer I'd help you out, but I'm only in town today and tomorrow to help my parents with looking at a new car.
Their previous car was totaled so I'm going with them tomorrow to go check out some new SUVs/crossovers. Therefore no Fuel for me either.

It's not the difficulty of removing it. I rebuilt my engine in my old focus so I know my way around an engine bay. It's just that I have school and work everyday with an hour window between the two. I can't really have my car out of commission for very long. I guess I'll try to find some time on Sunday.
Sounds like a lot of people are skipping out on fuel tomorrow. I was planning on coming by to check it out for the first time but if noones going I guess I'll wait till next week

If it's not raining and I'm not hungover, I'll probably be there around 10. Can't control the first aspect and working on the second aspect.

Anyone here planning on going to Mid-Ohio in June? I just found out about it and I'm going to try to go. Not sure if the wife will go, she's still miffed that she wasn't introduced to Patrick Dempsey last year as she was promised.
